If oil is glittery/ bits of metal then it's a bearing or bits of engine.

Yeh take flywheel off, good look cracking the big nut off. Hammer and chisel is probably best bet

Like what a short shifter feels like on an FD gear box

I think it's me tbh, iv driven my focus for a long time now I'm trying to teach myself to drive a proper car agin

Well engine out....no play in e shaft....lost compression on 2 faces 1 good on rear housing....with my nil experience looks like side seals to me...all 3 apex seal are in and intact. Turning over flywheel by hand with sparks out its very smooth and conistent. No tight spots atall.....i think bearings ok as oil was ok. Think ill give Carl a ring monday.

I would say seal springs are flattened. I think you can take rear bearing or stat gear out without stripping engine?

Dunno... Waiting for Jon`s reply. I wonder what is gone...

Yes, stat gear should come off. Snug fit though...
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

If it was det then I'm just guessing at springs which means everything else should be reuseable, but of do the bearings anyway. I wonder what mods can be done to oil delivery too the bearings? You could always go dry sump? Not as expensive as you think, just ask carl about them as I think he did one onto Darren mcnamaras drift AE86

Grant Monkhouse

I think if bearing had gone then the stat gear would be a bit mangled?? Dunno. Just spit balling.

You don't even want to know what would have happened if main bearings would have failed!! Engine would have locked up and your pants would have filled

Engines smooth turns freely....ill wait and speak to Clive / Carl....

Carl will tell you best. He will want tear it down I would imagine to see what's happened. See if the apex seals have done their job
