That's a strange knocking sound. A sound like when a wheel bearing has gone.

boosted

Yeah thats the only thing that stands out.....and the lack of compression!  I dunno tbh. But feels nice so hopefully not destroyed and everything reuseable.....

No play at all? That weird... and rear housing has no compression at one apex? Does engine turn to other way?

This is just thought, but apex seals little peace is out of place some how...
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

You can't do anything by taking it apart. Just unbolt things that can unbolt

Yes, better call it today, and fresh start tomorrow... :)

You said that she was shooting flames? That sounds seal failure to me. :/ Compression goes to wrong working chamber, kind of backfiring...
And if engine has been turning in high revs, it has been grinding path, if lets say apex is gone. So thats why you dont feel tight areas now when you are turning it.

But what confuses me is that there is no play at e shaft. So thats why Im quessing corner peace...

Guy i went overtake on circuit said a 2 foot flame came out....in the pits when restarted pop followed by a bang from exhaust. Sounded horrible on tick over.

I start my new job tomoz and need to be fresh as a daisy as lots to learn and take in tomoz so that nas to be number 1 priority. So gonna clear the diy jobs and keep the boss happy. Watched a few vids on rebuilds etc and garage needs to be clean, organised and meticulous with storing parts.....which its is not at mo. so not a lot gonna happen today. Im on 8 til 4 for the next few weeks so got plenty of evening time to sort.
Until its stripped its all speculation ::)

All organised ready for strip apart tomoz evening.....spare engine is gonna go in 2 no cost option only coolant n oil to replenish....nice way to see the bridge difference.
Ive took the alternator belt off and zero play anywhere and redrain sump....tiny amount of swarf. Turned on front bolt with ratchet and so much easier to rotate that spare.

At least you won't be down for long if your using the spare engine. Especially now that summers coming up and you need too enjoy it.

So you know what a flashing CEL means when your driving at 90mph at 4500rpm?? Had it flashing on Thursday night on my way home. I told carl and he said that it's fine. Not to worry about it

boosted

Flashing cel is misfire monitor.
