Umm, what size stock rear discs are? Cause I thought that 16" wheels would fit :)

Well, using 8´s parts is my opinion anyways. :) Much more easier to get and cheaper. And they are more advanced than FD´s...

Anyhoo, what ever you do, I think you are going to right direction. I really believe that old stiff rear end isnt best option for light track car. When you think about it, it cant compare to newer IRS systems. Just because optimal wheel position(caster and so on), unsprung weight and just maximum tyres contact to tarmac...

Hmm, I need 8´s rear end system too, so I can study it :D
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

No idea mate...just that import rx8s run 16s with smaller disc so an assumption...that uk discs are probably too big for 16s.
Biggest thing that puts me off is the rust...on the 8 subframe and its a fair chunk of pig iron....fds subframe looks to have stood the test of time and some nice alloy components and all fully adjustable...if the geo is better on an 8 than a 7 its marginal....the 7 makes up for it with POWERRRRR !!!!! Lol.

Oh. That I didnt know, I thought that they are similar size :)

Yes, FD´s subframe is really impressive. And its +25year old design! But once again I thought that 8´s is similar, with all those adjustable things. :/

Well, in theory, 8´s rear should keep up with bigger power cause internals are the same. However, I do not know about casing...

Right here we go got plenty to keep me busy for next few weeks....

so funds low due to house improvements etc Holiday to oz buying atrailer etc etc....

got to say big thanks to Tim at Rx motors and Ben at Rotary revs both came up with some replacement engine deals but funds low and i dont borrow money apart from afrikin great mortgage :'(...so found a crashed rebuild street port rx8, only done 1800 miles so run in for me...OK so its a Apex rebuild and dubious rep but its running nice no codes and defo will get a test in the westy.

i really dont like breaking cars never done it before but the damage to too far gone....

so westy will live on this time with a street port and i can sell of everything else and hopefully get a free engine at the end of it.

anybody want a nice Racing beat exhaust.....

cars was pretty immaculate .....

shame but due to rear quarter not saveable.

perfect red n black leather interior.

bilstein b12 with eibach springs, polybushed

first job get the engine out and then engine out of westy then break the rest....some parts are going in the attic...future investment for 20 years time lol....you never know. :P

Those exhaust tips don't look like Racing Beat?

Nice plan tho Jon, hope it works out financially for you with selling the spare bits. Alloys look to be in reasonable nick too!

Shame, another one bites the dust (but all helps to make the limited number of RX-8's smaller and rarer over time  ;))

Yeah wheels are good...but goodyear run flats on front and riken maystorm2 on rear? "Made in Sebia" from granite... Wtf! Shame it looked like a real tidy car. Lots of history etc. Its too far gone...inner wing is badly mullered and boonet pushed over. Had a quick drive all ok engine wise and hotstart.
At least gets westy running again....

With those tyres on no wonder it ended up in a accident! I'm amazed at people who buy a performance sports car and then put rubbish tyres on it, just asking for trouble ::)
