RX8 number 6 finally here 111k......and drove me home!

well its finally home......a case of less is more. covered in stickers and hydro dipping.

massive service history and folder full of eye watering mazda invoices....no sign of a rebuild and on 111000 miles.....it drove me home and then hot started 10 mins later.

BUT i bought it with a fault as then it just started clicking when tryng to start....looks like dodgy starter solenoid. cheapo ebay starter.

came with OE cat, decat, D585s, lockwood grills. after market oil coolers and braided lines unknown brand at mo, catch tank, alloy rad, new battery, good tyres, winddeflectors.
v loud exhaust...maybe toyo, aem intake and lots of standard parts.

got a p0171 code and seems a bit down on power. mot til march 2016.

seems like a bargain at Â£500.00 been premixed ............hopefully saveable gonna put a standard n3z1 on and see how she starts after 10 min hot start.

hang on more.....tein lowering springs, after market strut brace, a KnN induction filter, alloy petrol flap and a cuddly toy....

Looks like a Mazdaspeed but is most likely a replica. If genuine could be worth a couple hundred to the right person

Thanks mate...looks similar to the 1 on Tonys SC 8. Has not got the lower blade.....got a day off tomoz for a proper play and fiddle with it.

Tony added the lower blade himself

The MS spoiler is made from a plastic whereas most copies are made from fibre, although I've seen some copies made from plastic too

Ohhh. Its plastic got a textured rubbery feel to it on the blade surface.

Might be real then! The other give away is the brackets, the genuine ones are metal, although many copies are starting to use metal brackets now too.

Ill have a good look at it tomoz. Sussed the po171 rather large vac leak. Wanna put the standard n3z1 starter motor i have on and see what the hot start is like as this motor when spinning is flippin fast so maybe masking hot start...worst case scenario a bounty of parts but drove fine no flashy misfire. Tad to loud and farty bin can for me....showing my age.

If that is a complete K&N induction kit it will probably run at less than it's best, they have long been known to give problems on the RX8.

And that does indeed look like a Mazdaspeed wing judging by the brackets.
