that piece was hard crubbly rubber....could not have got through tank filter surely?....no idea tbh...unless the pump itself had broken up....ill be pumping through into a bucket tomoz . im hoping it was blocking flow into injector. still does not explain the flames though.

Really hope so...gotta be ....always meant to revisit the fuel system. Ive cleared all the crud out good flush tomoz and get to Merlin Motorsport for an inline filter get it back together with meano mino injectors and see if i can fix b4 holidays....revisit after holiday with replacement pump injectors and fpr etc....thats the plan....

Hard rubber? Weird... Where that kind of rubber can come to fuel lines...?
True, doesent explain flames. Only thing I can think of is that injectors are "leaking" somehow at the wrong time...

I dont know mate. When i swapped injectors diagnosing fault the lines where all clear and car got better for a few drives....ive no idea tbh. Its going back together clean today with a inline filter to see if this is the fault and if ok ill redesign fuel system when back from holiday. Im making up a little home brew injector flush system using cataclean and airpressure....ill pick the 4 best spray patterned injectors. If i can fix b4 hols will be happy bunny.

Could it be possible that when she was missfiring, she backfired, and fire burned and/or melted something in intake manifold...?

dunno mate big fat filter going in....

heres me home brew blowie injector cleaner mark1! fill funnel energise injector...dribble through til out of funnel...de energise....remove funnel from tube wrap yer lips around tube...blow like mad and energise inj....happy that i got a lovely spray pattern from my selected injectors....i done all of them twice and have selected the 1s i felt where up to challenge! lol billy bodger scraphead challenge.

worked quite well....the large speck fell off an injector....ill revisit just wanna CONFIRM this is the issue.

Bit of a mare injector leaking 3rd attempt seal running up to temp after syringing all the fuel up....few revs ok still flames though....just looking at this weather .....semi slicks very wet......need to cane it.....think ill wait and have a tidy up....miss fire gone upside down in hedge lol.
