Quote from: Bone;880914Gutting, at least you\'re ok and the car had some speed in the previous laps!

The only thing I did notice from your footage was that in previous laps you were either held up in traffic through that corner or you had the chance to stay to the left all the way up to it.

You overtook the white car on the right, moved across to the left to get the line and then started turning right into the corner. It looked like there was a height difference of tarmac (lower on the left side of the track) where you had the incident. Maybe that unsettled the car as you turned in?

Yes i  agree! and to get the overtake done as that car was quick i braked later than usual as he was on only just behind me which the camera does not show.

Quote from: boosted;880913No idea mate! on the transition between brakes and throttle. Happened so fast got some lock in but i never got to the brake pedal! Coolant came down on my feet as soon as i switched off ? but not surprising switching off without a cool down period. But coolant was in check as have alarm for 100 deg C. Thing is its live axle so not alot you can do on rear! On the alignment everything focus\'d on front end  2.5 deg of camber slight bit of toe out.
It basically just let go. had no indication prior but i did spin earlier in day but that was my fault. Prob never know!

Balance bar? too much rear?
Engine\'s starting okay?
slicks, what kind of ? crossply or radial

Glad you are OK.

Having followed this thread and seeing just what a quick car you have built I\'m gutted for you. I know it will return, but worry that if you can find no obvious cause is there a chance it could happen again, as there appeared to be no driver input other than your braking and you say you had completed this when it snapped around.:3Confused

Radial yokohamas a005 medium soft.
Engine sweet no issues no damage to any mechanicals.
Balance bar? Not sure what you mean?  ....panhard rod?

Oversteer was dialed out on geo sess as much as poss. But inherent in design.

Really dont know prev session no issues flying through the esses.

Car felt sweet every bend hence pushing on.

Great times in the laps prior to the incident (1m17s ish?) - and there looked to be a couple more seconds to be got too :Thumbs-up

Gutted to see the crash though  - looked at the video a few times and not quite sure what happened either to cause the sudden oversteer

Pleased to hear engine and gearbox OK, but sounds like a bit of work to get her "back into shape" :(

I was thinking that as well.! Lot of power lightweight car no downforce...never designed for it...maybe live axle has not got the movement of independent moving right to left then left again unstabled the rear on the uneven track.

no regrets it was 1 hell of a ride. Lots of adrenaline flowing. Thinking of investigating converting rear end to independent suspension...

If i damaged the engine i would be really gutted but im in good spirits. The car was performing without issue and all temps etc where in check and all the hardwork was paying off.

I have to agree with that. I dont think that there was anything on the track. And I dont thing that it is tyres fault. When slick loose tractions, its usually bye bye then ;)
But I noticed that you are hitting those apex really hard. So it might gause damage to suspension parts and setup. It could be one reason...

But good job, you and car are really fast! :) And thanks for vid ;)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Checked car over nothing found to contribute to crash.
on reflection driver error broke deeper and harder into that corner. Weight still over front when i apllied throttle. Unfortunate hit tyres.
Rest assured it wont slow me down!
