Quote from: boosted;850524Any more updates Clive...will you be out on grid for start of season?

No  more updates I\'m afraid as the project came to a halt  in  November as we do not have an engine for the car which is stopping the installation of many other components , "very" slim chance that it may be race ready for the third round of the season in your neck of the woods at Castle Coombe.
All the best Clive

Quote from: RobMatthews;847481Clive what are you doing with the fuel tank? oe or aftermarket?

Sorry Rob, didn\'t see this.

Stock RX-8 tanks are saddle mounted under the back seats and the ideal position for a race car :D

Phil Collard keeps trying to tempt me with other series ;).

First I need to get it up n running and out there on track days to see what times it will produce, or potentially produce with development, then go with a decision from there.

When I spoke with drivers in the Nippon series last year some viewed Rotarys as a fragile joke and with the people supporting this project I need something reliable "and quick" to uphold the Rotary name

Apologies if it\'s already been covered... but what tyres are you allowed to run?

I think you will be quick with the low boost 400hp setting Clive. However the main thing, I would say, is that you have fun win or lose:D

Nippon Challenge can only use MSA List 1B tyres.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Its sitting on Yokohama A48 tyres which would be allowed in Nippon and I would probably look to stay in a road car tyred series if possible.

Anyone who has driven on good slicks will know that once warm the grip level goes up tremendously over any road based tyre, then you really need better brakes and suspension to go with!.

Don\'t forget this is very much a budget racer built out of a lock up in the hope that others will see what\'s possible with our rotarys without lots of money.

Yes I know Grant, but trust me riding around at the back is no fun, been there, done that one when I have had poorly cars:eek:

Now that the engine is on its way, what about turbo fanimold? And turbo :D

I don\'t think you would run around at the back in a standard rx8 Clive, never mind a turbo:eek

I was going to ask about slicks, Clive all ready answered. :)

So are you going to reveal prices? For a budget race car I would say  close to 10,000? Just to get it running. No race fees etc.
