AH! Im just missing the O ring that fits round the injector then hopefuly they won\'t be too hard to find! At least I don\'t need to worry about the gromits at the base of the injector anymore! Make sure you get new seals for those though, its amazing the difference between 20 year old used seals and new!

Another update :)

The gearbox and prop are in, using mmr solid bushes to mount the box, suspenion links, adjustable centre camber link to go with the adjustable mmr adjustable camber links, driveshafts all fitted, new wheel bearings and removed the abs rings and sensors, bothe hubs have dtss bushes also, brakes need o be fitted once ive stripped the calipers and also have the rear anti roll bar to fit with poly bushes

gearbox and prop

mmr bushes

fitted to the mounts

everything assembled

nice to be able to bolt all the wheels on properly and roll it around if i needed to, she\'ll stay up on stands till ready for mot though i think

next big step is the wiring loom, my plan is to remove the old loom from the grey car and replace it with the loom from my old white car as it matches the engine and allows me to use standard controls inside, ive changed looms in cars before and had success but this loom seemed to be a double job as i still had to remove the loom from the white car.

so got stuck in the other day there and removed the blower motor and heater matrix from the grey car and after getting tio grips with the way the loom had to be removed i got it out of the car

inside even barer than it used to be lol

found wiring loom man lying around outside lol

so next step was take the loom out of the white car, this has its problems as the grey fc loom has bee simplified when phil built it and my white loom was a full loom with the added hassle of a clifford alarm spliced in in many areas, but after a while finding out what was what and labelling things as i went the alarm was cut out and the non essential parts of the loom were disconnected :-p then got the loom out completely

how my old fc is looking now

the loom out on the floor all cleaned up ready to go in

so now after a quick fumble with the wiring loom it now has its new home inside the fc

engine bay also a little further on and the wiring loom is 98% where it should be, just plug some things in and clip things down

looks relatively untidy in the photos but looks good in real life

next is blower and heater matrix to be fitted and interior to be fitted including cutting the dash and keep going with the engine

You already have my PM from DW :) let me know what you want to do

Timmyc

i will mate, decisions decisions lol

re japi

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Covered in thick awesome sauce!

Timmyc

thanks re japi :)

B.Martin that is the best selection of words ive heard in ages! lol!

Timmyc

due to a few late nights i\'ve been sorted out by retro boy g with this mad amount of energy drinks lol and a nice geraknob for my aw11 as well as a nice new status error sticker :)

after fitting the loom the blower was fitted along with the heater matrix, all piped up and working :)

next was setting about the headlights, a nice set of raybrigs i took out of my aw11

a cheap set of HIDS :) 8000k h4s

work well i think, once i mount the bumper correctly mounted im going to raise the headlights slightly and fix them in position

next the flocked dash was stripped ready to try be fitted

after some struggling and cutting the dash was fitted nicely :)

a while ago i ordered rising rpm fuel rails from the us of a and they finally arrived so got them fitted :)

even the washers were cool lol

got bored with the crappy instrument surround so sprayed it pink to match the handbrake, dont know if it suits or not? might flock it

fitted the fire extinguisher system and routed the nozzles through the bulkhead to the turbo area and to the drivers footwell

showing the surround and the extinguisher

fitted the pull cut offs on the scuttle panel also

while fitting the cut off i fitted the wiper linkage, motor, wiper arms, blades, washer bottle and pump with lines so there all working now as well :)

and how the car sits just now

Looking good mate :D

With those 4 550cc injectors, might be an idea to try and grab a mark 1 MX5 1.8 injector loom as the connectors are the same on the FC as that car - the 550cc FC injectors are a PnP upgrade to the standard ones for turboed MX5s :) might be eaiser than trying to find Denso pigtails!

Timmyc

ah cool tip man thanks :)

B.Martin

This is great, really like it and I\'m totally digging the bn kit which I used to dislike.

Timmyc

thanks man :) i must say ive wanted a bn kit ever since i got my first egi and had one ordered brand new at one point also, it looks better in person

wolfie1

This is 1 awesome build! I know we both live in Scotland but with not on opposite sides of it, would LOVE to see this in person, also awesome garage

festa

Hi Mate,
Very nice build, I\'m after some new bushes for my FC how did you get on with the MMR stuff and whats it like, shiping times etc.
I see they do bushes for the front and rear arms did you get these as well
Cheers

dthebuk

this is a great build man, can\'t wait to see this used in anger again.

The best thing about seeing this car in person is how darn wide it is, in comparrison to a stock fc it\'s rediculous!

\'91 FC TII - Drifter... Under construction :D
