What fueling are you going with? Why did you go with a quad injector bung setup for only a T04Z?

Timmyc

walbro 255 lift pump to swirl pot then bosch 044 to engine, AN fittings and teflon pipe through the car and a power fc ecu, using the quad manifold as i already had an hks additional injector controller for an fc and i knew someone with this manifold, i like the idea of 4 x 550cc rather than say 2 x 1000cc ones, the 550s are high impendence and deliver the fuel more equally in a better mist and mixes better in the uim rather than in one blob right at the base of the lim like a high cc injector, plus its something different and isnt much more work

B.Martin

Your thread is jam packed full of win!! It\'s an awesome build mate when it\'s done it\'s gonna be up there with the best FC\'s in the country, perhaps further ;)

Top stuff mate.

nic3s

Yeah agreed, this will be the new testament for FCs.

Ah ok, im going Tomei 280 intank, 044 inline and then 044 inline in the engine bay with an AN8 hard line :)

Im guessing you are going with a parallel fuel setup? How many injectors are you using then? I am going to put 4 x 550s in my quad manifold along with the 2 x 550 standard and 2 x 1680 secondaries.

Thats a nice flocked dash btw :)

NeilSR

Nice to see the dash panel has gone to good use ;)

b.martin, nic3s thanks guys glad you like it :) all encouragement is good for me to keep at it especially when its getting cold lol

mitch, thats some amount of fuel your going to be firing in there lol im just using the standard 550s primary and secondary so 8 x 550cc injectors total, ive been looking at series and parallel rail setups and ive been wondering how im going to incorporate my extra fuel rail, you may have seen these diagrams?

series

parallel

i was considering using the stock series rail setup with a splitter block for my extra rail but not sure how to do away with my stock pressure regulator and use my aftermarket one without getting new rails or cutting it off and welding on AN fittings?? im still learning about this lol, the dash is getting there but im going to have to start cutting parts to fit past the cage

yeah looks at home neil :)

thanks fil auto :)

Yeah, I need it on the TA45, can\'t let it go lean! The e-manage ultimate allows up to 12 injectors anyway.

My fuel setup is going to be parallel with an AN8 hard line vs the OEM AN6 hardline to get the fuel in there, I might run a second fuel line (or indeed use the OEM AN6 line) for the seperate set of injectors so I will have:

1 x Tomei 280lph intank
1 x 044 + AN8 + 2 x 550 + 2 x 1680
1 x 044 + AN6 + 4 x 550

If you think about how much fuel the standard fuel system has in it ie:

4 x 550cc = 2200cc

Just 1 1680cc injector is the majority of the OEM stock fueling flow.

Im def. keeping 550cc primaries though for better idle and drivability, then have loads of fueling plus the meth injection on top to keep the temps down and have plenty of safety margin on fueling.

I think you can unscrew the OEM FPR, ive just changed rails lol

Question on the quad manifold, I have just got mine, the OEM 550s don\'t fit my injector bungs, the connector gets in the way, have you test fitted yours? Also where are you getting the custom rail to run them from?

Timmyc

Being about to run 12 injectors is very handy, I\'m not sure if the power fc is able to run additional injectors? Would save me having to run the hks controller if it does? Will need to check

Sounds like a well thought about and reliable setup, I\'m going to run water injection but wondered what ignition your going to be running?

Unscrew you say? If I could then possibly screw an AN fitting straight in then everything would be simpler

Yeah I\'ve fitted my injectors, I\'ll take them apart and take photos to show you how mine fit, also if you need the electrical connection I\'ve found a place to get them

In regards to the fuel rail if you speak to jon at atomic rex he can supy the parts for the rtail, I\'m considering making mine as I have the ability and the equipment here to make them, also I\'ve seen a form of banjo fitting the connects to the top of the injectors secured with a c clip if I remember correcty

m1tch

Im going to try and find something like this:

If you could post up the injector photo and how they fit it would be very handy! Im not sure how they would seal and be air tight though as the whole OEM injector fits inside the injector bung lol

The setup is getting there, there are 2 things that kill rotaries, overheating and running lean at the wrong time, I don\'t plan for either of those to happen!

I think they unscrew, apparently the OEM rails can hold about 500bhp or so

I have 2 spare pigtails from my loom and have another engine loom I can take the OEM injector connectors from, they are the same as 1.8 MX5 injectors anyway :)

You are lucky, you have to be VERY precise with the holes though, its why I like the idea of the injector holder above as each injector can be added into a rail and its quite a flexible design as each injector is plumbed in individually.

bidoucrx

great tread !!!!!

lot of nice works !!!!

Timmyc

yeah i\'ll post up a pic, i have a rubber seal inside the bung that when the top ring is tightened down it seals, seems quite effective.

yeah i know what you mean, im on a mision to keep my temps down as well, what ignition amplification are you going to be using?

yeah i have seen another setup like this using fuel pipe from each injector then into a rail, this may be the best option but im going to weight up a few options and see what is going to be best,

m1tch

Ignition will be custom, the FC coils are very very good, its just the 80s electronics behind them that aren\'t the best, I have a set of FD coils in the garage, I was wondering how the engine even worked with those tiny things lol

Timmyc

lol i know what you mean, the difference between the fc and fd igniter is unreal, been considering some fd parts to replace fd parts as i have a few things around as well but havent decided.

how the cap and o ring fit together

the holes in the cap are done so that grub screws hold the cap in place nicely
