My first RX7 was KYO 508X from Richard Knight Cars in Swiss Cottage,
so that one must have come from them aswell.

asking alot for that red fb at the dublin car show and the other red fb.
as the republic of ireland is a different country to me as i am in the north, you also have taxes to pay and registering the car for the UK etc.

so alot to pay and they look nothing special to some of the users cars on here and what they payed. i do like the black interior in the car show fb. i was wondering was it grey originally and custom coloured? i have been told fb\'s did have black carpet and dashes etc but i mostly have seen grey carpets and dashes.

i have seen that black fb on donedeal before, sounds like alot of work.

Yeah my 1st had black carpets & dash (an imported SA model) - if you like it that much I have 90% of an interior to sell in black (if ever interested).  I dare say there are still quite a few around in this colour.

i\'ll hold you to that mate, if i ever get an fb lol.
i do like the red interior too, something different. i know you can buy plastic paint but one scratch and its ruined, better to get the colour you like.

i am not a fan of gray as a colour to be honest and the colours i like have gray interiors, bar white/silver.

i take it the dash etc are very easily removed?

1stly I don\'t have the dash unfortunately but this can be sourced from breakers and perhaps even the odd one knocking around in another rotarshed on the forum?

As for the removal, I changed mine on JAZ last year and from start to finish it took about a day & a half - but I took out the support frame too so it could be done in a day in my opinion.
Difficulty factor on a 1 to 10 scale - being honest I\'d say a 7 (for me anyhow), I did have a thread on this which I\'ll dig it out & post the link for you.
Satisfaction factor - a big 10 & oh what pleasure when everything worked 1st time afterwards.
Others on the forum suggested painting but honestly I was well chuffed when it was done and what an experience.

Hey Dave, my eldest lad was in Bournemouth at a friends house and off the trampoline spotted two 7\'s in next doors garage. He\'s got a good eye that boy. Anyway, we went round to have a nose, owned by an elderly fella who\'s had them both for 15 years-not been MOT\'d for 10. Spotless, the both of them.

The white one isn\'t an Elford, he just replaced the spoiler, but literally apart from that 100% original. Don\'t know if you have them already but he gave permission to add them anyway as he doesn\'t have a computer.

Hi Spoddy - think it\'s more of a case does rafa benetiz live near me!  Not to sure but the following celebs do:
John Barnes
Mike McGere from the \'Scaffold\' (Paul McCartneys brother)
Elton Wellsby
Ian St John to name a few.

As far as the thread goes for the dashboard - yes there are pics there and here in the basic instruction to do the job (note this is the refitting instruction so to take one out, start reading at the end and work up):

Well was it as simple as following instructions in reverse - basically yes.
If anyone does this like myself and takes the supporting frame out too:-

1) make sure you put the wiring loom on top of the supporting brackets (4 number) before re-connecting the air ducting middle section to the dash. Re-connecting the air duct is a bit difficult as this has to be done blind - 2 screws inside the air duct to the underside of the dash and remember to put the wiring loom between the dash and duct before you secure with the screws otherwise the wiring loom will not fit correctly.
2) also remember the routing of the wiring loom at the centre console to the bottom switches and clock - very important as not much slack in the loom and tight position means the loom connectors will not sit correctly so you would not be able to screw the centre panel to the console.

It is awkward to re-fit the dash as you have to keep moving the air duct(s) and ease the wiring loom so that it locates onto the 4 supporting brackets - make sure the 5 bolts locate in their respective clearance hole and then secure the 3 no. fixing bolts on top to the front bulkhead.
Fit and secure the 5 nuts on the underside of the dash - it is easier to fit the nearside nuts if you bend the plastic ducting away from the middle section. Once secure re-fir the air duct to the middle section.
Re-fit bolts for steering column to the frame.
Re-fit the 7 bolts at bottom of dash to the frame - 1 each end and 5 along the front.
Secure the wiring loom inside the \'clock\' area to the underside of the dash.
Re-fit facia above dash infront of the windscreen - 3 screws required - this is tedious but stick with it
Re-fit \'clock\' panel and secure by 2 screws (access via drivers footwell).
Re-connect speedo cable - note access difficult. I found it easier to control the direction and locating byguiding from above the foot pedals and push the speedo cable into place. With a long flat screw driver (12" minimum) place the flat blade to the rear of the white plastic shroud and force firmly towards the \'clock\' panel, the speedo cable should click into place.
Fit centre console and secure with screws.
Connect dash board dimmer switch and choke mechanism into place.
Re-fit drivers side outer panel into place - make electrical connections and secure panel into place.
Re-position and secure fuse box into place - in front of bonnet release handle.
Re-fit final air duct under steering column.
Re-fit centre panel into console and make good all connections.
Re-fit glove box - remember to secure outer dash cover first then vanity light/door keep prior to securing door into place.
Re-fit gear lever gaitor and secure into place in the centre console.
Re-fit rear console panel with switch connections.
Re-install seats.
Re-fit shroud around steering column.
Finally re-fit steering wheel and horn centre panel.
Re-connect battery and away you go.
There wasn\'t that easy! - phew.

As for the thread,
Hints on exchanging Dash Board?
Hope this helps you out Spoddy

john barnes...now there was a legend of a footballer and ian st john too, liverpool fc greats. wow that is interesting, the wirral is a nice place isn\'t it. if you bump into them or rafa say hello for me ;)

i suppose it sounds more complicated than it is and its just a case of patience and not rushing through it all. i have smallish hands so if i get my fb and decide to change the interior i should be able to do the job.

i\'ll check out the thread mate.

thanks for the help
