finished the brakes off today. started with the fronts.

then moved onto the rears, first off i had to decided where to put the bias valve but make the lines half neat. just need to spray the engine bay black now as its a right mess :(

I would suggest a grommet in the hole in the first picture where there are 2 pipes coming through.

Will you not experience a bit if spongyness in your brake pedal without using solid lines?

SiH

I see you\'ve gone the same route that I ended up doing for the lines - good stuff.
Might be worth having a look at bulkhead conenctors and splitting the lines to run them through the inner wings - looks a bit tidier and it\'s a bit more secure :)

I totally know what you mean about the paint - mine looked great when I first did it, but after neearly a year of shifting stuff around in the bay it now looks like total ass, and I need to pull the block and do it again :(
I think this time I\'m going to pay someone to do it properly.

karl_tate

there is a grommit there now, was in the process of fitting it. not sure about the spongyness, will find out soon tho lol

i thought you did one port to one caliper and the other port to the other caliper and split that to the rear?? i did think about bulkhead fittings etc but it\'l be fine for now haha

its a ....., plus mine is even worse now the abs etc has gone, but its going to have a half ass paint for now and maybe do it again later on in the year....not looking forward to masking it off :(

Go look at the cost of bulkhead adapters and you probably won\'t think of using them again!

The T piece bulkhead adapter I used in the pic below to split the front brake circuit was £28 alone not including the three connectors attached to it at a tenner a piece :(

In the second pic you can see the 90 deg bulkhead adapter going to the front wheel well. Your rubber grommit probably does just as good a job.

Straight Male > Male connectors in steel are about 3 quid each from ThinkAuto.

karl_tate

nearly there now, just awaiting on rails from japan for the seats, i carnt put the old one\'s back in because i butchered them

then i can tax it and get the allignment done and she is ready to rock apart from getting the bay spray black.

done something i know most of you hate but i think they look good, will have to see what they are like at night tho.

hey karl, quick question, what sort of inlet temps do you normally get with your v mount setup, ie cruising and full boost to redline.

im trying to decide whether to stay front mount as i build it back up or go v mount for the added cooling for the radiator

Karl, what is your front splitter made from ?

I have thought about using marine grade ply (like Matt) as carbon is expensive.

Thanks
Chris

karl_tate

cheers syed :)

lee, i carnt really remember but when i last compared it with a mate who has a front mount, my temps, both water and inlet were far better than his. will get more info when im back out driving if you like.

chris, its made out of alloy, either 3 or 4mm
