I\'ve just realised I\'m selling mine too cheap

Thats the silly things about these cars, the crap ones sell for under 1k or a lot less but the good ones will not sell for over 1k when they like yours should go for 2k plus............ funny old world

Ian65

It amazes me how people lose all sense of reality when buying a car. They convince themselves that  a 25 year old car for a grand is going to be an absolute concours showcar. One bloke rang up and said " is it totally immaculate and as new?"
What, for a grand?!! The berk!!

shaunwil

That is half the thing doing my nut in at the minute. I\'m considering parting with the FB but the LPG, 13b setup, rebuilt Diff, 17in alloys, moonroof, DAB sound system make me what good cash for it. The body isn\'t brilliant but is still quite good. I\'d be seriously be looking for 2k if I sold. Weather somebody would be prepared to pay it is another thing !

For £1000.00 buyers expect a bare metal respray,new engine/suspension/transmission/immaculate interior & a 5 year parts & labour warranty,full years mot & 1 years tax.
selling cars sure ain\'t fun.

I spent in excess of 1k putting mine back on the road, and have just been quoted £1200 to have the driveshafts changed on my wifes Toyota, so where these people are comming from who knows ...............

Shaun with your set up you would be mad to sell even at the price you are quoting, as to build that again would set you back a lot more, where are you going to get a car that looks that good for the money .................

shaunwil

I know what you mean but the floor wants some attention and the dampers are squeaky! Would cost a few quid to put right. Bet I\'ve spent quite a bit over the years of ownership.

Car has a guarenteed valuation of 3.5k on the insurance.

I think your car would be outside the normal run of the mill RX7 market though Shaun, with the 13b, the gas, the nice wheels and the roof plus the other bits, I reckon someone would pay a premium for that.
Selling a standard car is much more difficult..... it\'s almost as if some people are deliberately trying to wind me up!!

Today i\'ve been to this breaker, and bought the engine. The car was still not touched yet, and i didn\'t looked bad. It ended up as scrap thanks to the scrappage scheme.

The engine purring like a cat. The engine looked clean, the oil looked clean, and under the oil cap looked clean. There was a ro-techniks sticker in the engine bay, and a rx-7 club sticker at the back. I assumed that this car was owned by a enthusiast. That gave me confidence to buy this. I don\'t know if the price is right, but actualy, i don\'t wanna know

The only thing what worries me is that the scrap yard staff are driving the scrap cars like maniacs. I saw how they move cars around the yard. Spinning wheels and screaming engines.

The registration of this car isFBP 400x
Is this car known on this forum?
