That red S2 should have been saved we should hang our heads in shame in my opinion. I tried to contact the bloke before it got broke-am still going to try get it engineless anyway.

Inpector Nock will probably tell you it\'s history.
I always thought the scrappage scheme would be the death of some perfectly good classics, you,ve just proven it.
Not many S2\'s left now, again mr nock has the approx numbers.
Hope the engines a good un.

I\'ve been thinking & it hurts!
Until the price of FB\'s rises it\'s inevitable more good ones will be scrapped.
Now where\'s the paracetamol.

captainbizzaro

Yeah it\'s a touch annoying, especially as it looks solid so to lose a potential donor shell would be a shame.

syebba

Do u need a doner shell or just another project?
It does look solid, but you know how good FB\'s are at hiding rust!
Cool reg nos on it too.

Nah not especially but it\'d be nice to have one on standby should the dreaded grot set in. This will definately be Nev\'s last summer on the road before we embark on a teardown though as he is bubbling in two places-one just in front of sunroof and around the offside wiper spindle. I\'m dying to have a dig at it to get it out but don\'t want a summer with an open wound!

Quote from: maztra;699051Today i\'ve been to this breaker, and bought the engine. The car was still not touched yet, and i didn\'t looked bad. It ended up as scrap thanks to the scrappage scheme.

The engine purring like a cat. The engine looked clean, the oil looked clean, and under the oil cap looked clean. There was a ro-techniks sticker in the engine bay, and a rx-7 club sticker at the back. I assumed that this car was owned by a enthusiast. That gave me confidence to buy this. I don\'t know if the price is right, but actualy, i don\'t wanna know

The only thing what worries me is that the scrap yard staff are driving the scrap cars like maniacs. I saw how they move cars around the yard. Spinning wheels and screaming engines.

The registration of this car isFBP 400x
Is this car known on this forum?

Hi and thanks Maztra.....Bart, Is that right?
Yes FPB 400X (Reg 8/8/1981) first put in an appearance in 2009 when it was for sale in Suffolk for £1000. It got no bids.
The miles were reported as 68,250 at the time but I put it down on my register with a ?? because it looked higher mileage on the ebay pics.

Did you take the engine back to Holland? Just interested.

Current milage is 68.846.
And the engine will go to Holland where it will replace the dead engine in my matra.
Couple of years ago when i put the rotary engine in my matra, i also modified the OMP. I gave it a separate feed with 2stroke oil, instead i uses oil from the sump. It worked great. The olny thing is, you have to keep an eye on the 2stroke oil tank.
I went to a trip to Austria, and i kind of forgot to check the oil........
So i am pleased with this new engine.
