I purchased mine from UK. Dont remember sellers name tho. He had several FCs on braking

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Dammit, cant find name anywhere. I think it was John's something

Why do you need rear iron?

My buddy broke his series 4 with too much power.

Series 5 supposed to be stronger in that area

Aa, crap

Yes, well, there is actually two kinds of S5 irons. Later model S5 irons are with thicker wall in those areas. They are found from year 91 model. They are similar with FDs.

Really difficult to find tho, cause seller usually dont see and know the differense.

However, earlier model S5 irons are quite strong too, compared to S4s.

Is rear gearing and bearing in it gone? Cause seems to me that this is caused by unbalanced engine

During inspection we cannot find anything else wrong.

The engine ran sweet no issues. On a strong pull and oil pressure dropped and oil squirting everywhere.

I think it's more to do with series 4 irons not liking 400+ hp

Ok, I see. However, usually there is something else wrong too when that happens. Torgue and unbalance of the engine usually causes those dowel areas to fail.

S4 and S5 gearing are shoft shit. They cant  handle that power.

I strongly suggest that you get HP Renesis gearings and e shaft. And racing bearings to gears.

Also you should clean and weight how much your rotors weight

All those being said, S4 engine should be good for 400 horses. But it really is on it limits then. And everything inside has to be really good or it will fail

It's not old from its rebuild and port work.  done by a reliable and reputable builder.

I think it's bad luck on soft irons. Maybe wound the boost up bit too much, I dunno

It might be, but if gearing and e shaft is from S4, it will brake.

These old irons have some casting problems. As seen in mine, there is some "airbubbles" in side.

But you are correct, they cant take big power

But again, and I cant say this enough, sorry about that, check and replace those internals too

Im happy to help if you need, just drop me a message and ask

clive

The picture above is nothing to do with ballance or weak plates, detonation caused what you are seeing.

Good call on the RX-8 Eccentric shaft as its lighter and will fit any 13B engine also I use one in the race cars FD engine.

Hope this helps,
All the best Clive

Really, detonation can cause that? So that engine went over boost or...?

Yeah, and Rennys E shaft has better oil system too. But what really important, is that those gearings are much harder.

My buddy did mention detonation too when we pulled it apart, I couldn't get my head around it due to the continuous rotation opposed to reciprocating pistons. I can't fathom it out, but I don't know sh*t

He said prolly needs a better map to fix
