well im a bit down in the dumps.....the thought of swapping out to s2000 to fit the regs when all the hard work to get the conversion done feels me we dread. dilema is car is quick as is but not quick enough for Class A, its a perfect track car with all the work done but i wanna race and seems ludicrous to rip the loom etc out and start again....cant afford to have it sit there whilst i scratch the racing itch.

stupid co efficient. :angry5:

Ok, thanks for info...

Really? Oh. Me sad...   :(

That is so, so sad, after all the work you've put into fitting the RX-8 engine and gearbox in the chassis. I can't understand the reasoning for a 1.7 multiplier on a NA rotary. I'm guessing if you were to (theoretically) stick a super- or turbocharger on the engine you'd still have a 1.7 co-eff? If so, that's madness...

Casey a force induced rotary is 2.6 to 1 ....its a firm regulation. I enquired about vtec and there is no restriction on piston engines. Forced induced co eff is 1.7. I knew this before i started but didnt know how fast the lap times where gonna be....now i know i have an oppurtunity and nessicity to build it to fit the regs. If i want to stay at Combe which i do then then only choice is s2000.   My current engine needs rebuild plus e shaft and rotors and maybe a housings. Plus yet unknown mods to resist high rpm and g in corners on slicks.....prob about the same as swapping to the s2000. But latter drops me in class b where i know it will be front runner.....class a boys are mega build monsters that i cant compete with.
I have been divering alot what todo and priority 1 is race.. .and be competive so i think my mind is made up to swap to s2000 power. Sorry guys this is not a decision ive made lightly i can assure you.....its a case of 1 life live it.

Trying to think of a fitting end but cant other that if a track day only car then would be staying rotary power as i need to be swap classes.i was tempted to put the spare in and trek to Pembrey with WRDA but thats not local. Aint anything else it fits into race series wise. i said to myself 1 more engine and get that 1.14 but that is still only just fast enough for Class A. If i could stockpile it and buy another car i would but i cant....ive got just enough cash to do a swap and all parts are off the shelf and wealth of knowledge out there as this conversion has been done countless times.  My loom will be removed and labelled and stored for future Shenigans! ^-^ :P ::)  Its been a blast and thankyou guys for all your encouragement and support and a Big Thankyou to Clive who has answered my calls with numerous silly questions from start of build through to end . Im not actually going anywhere as we still have the R3 and ill probably end up with another stray rx8 soon to fix up. I miss my S type its been sacrificed for racing.

so big thumbs up guys from me!

heres a meddly of my rotorship!

It's a real shame, but I follow your logic. You want to be competitive, but the stupid load assign Westroy with a huge (and unfair, IMHO) handicap which means you can't be competitive.

Yes, its a real shame. But I do understand it too. Even though those rules are stupid, its actually pointless to fight them...

However, I do want to see your progress with that car, even if its not rotary. :)
