re japi

lol

Or is it time to get westory some over pressure too ;)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Finally got to the end of this. Wow. A really good read, so many ups and downs. So glad you have it running properly now, and like I said on rx8oc, can't wait to see it at forge day.
Has re-ignited my fire to do a kit car, I had suppressed that urge for so long. Watch this space.
Cheers for linking me to your thread.

Cheers mate...yep crashing it during testing was not my finest hour....lowest point on my own fully stripped chassis on 2 wheels and trolley jack half loaded onto a trailer in the pouring rain.....i remember it well....lol then last years pesky misfire ....ha ha. Highs have been realising youve got some great mates that step in and help with welding and straightening when youve nearly given up and when you drive it, its raw like no road car can convey.

I'm thinking of going down the Haynes roadster route and making the frame and everything. Means I have got a lot of learning to do, so gunna start to learn welding soon.
Least that way I can make any adjustments I need to make to have the running gear fit straightaway.

Well this is the plans anyway! Gunna be a long term project that's for sure!

Cool...its an old design...all basically a clone from Colin Chapmans original Lotus 7 design. Worth joining locost builder forums and have a mooch about...
In other news...swapped out my worn out qr steering coupling....what a mare...contorted myself into some human corkscrew to get at bolts.

I got both the original locost book and the Haynes roadster. Started looking on that site, just gunna start building up the rest of the tools I need to get, organise my garage, then start looking for places to source the steel.

Randy, What do you want the car for specifically? track road etc?

Bit of both. Not gunna do racing, just track days etc. Bit of fun really. Like I said, it's gunna be a long term project. I'm estimating a year or 2 to build it, then if I get it done quicker, it's a bonus. Like I said, been batting the idea about, and finally wanna test myself to see if I could actually make it!

Cool. Good luck ill have a good chat with you at Forge.
