As per the title really, if you found this under your FC what would you do?

They\'re on the inner sill on the back edge of the nearside. Quoted £250 to fix. (This could see me becoming an owner ;))

Your opinions greatly appreciated.

Its the usual place the FC goes, also check around the rear arches, mine was worse and its been fixed with no issues.

The price actualy sounds O/K to me as this will involve a fair bit of cutting, fabrication and welding to sort out
All the best Clive

patched up worse, price seams ok aswell...

Get it done lad, it cost me more than that for new arches on a Nova!!!

or if your like the previous owners of my rx4 get slap happy with lots of fiberglass bringing compound and filler :Hammer no seriously dont do that!

£250 for welding sounds a bit high, but I guess it depends where you live and who you know (just spent £1500 on welding my rx4 saving her!) its probably a days work looking at your pics?

£250 is not a bad price for the repairs when you take into account materials and labour, mind you I live in London so thats cheap
Cheers

PS, anyway spill the beens what sort of FC is it etc, etc, we need details to convince you that buying it is a great idea

Oh if its turbo 2 you HAVE to rescue her, can we be treated to some more pics perhaps?

Won\'t be too bad I would have thought.

I had a guy who works for Audi look at the floor rust on my FC, he said he could fix it no problems.  He wanted to weld a plate over it - as he does at work!!! :rollin

Make sure they cut out the bad and not hide it! :cheers

I do this work all day it all comes down to what there doing.
If there just cleaning and putting a plate on the bottom its a high quote.
If there cutting or cleaning the top and bottom and putting a bottom and top plate in then its a fairly good quote.
Most of that will be welding time. It quite hard to get good neet welds under a car as the hot rod is always trying to go down. Hence a top and bottom plate. To get good welds on it.

I know on mine there is no rust but im putting a new bottom plate that runs from front of sills to back and a plate inside that does the same to protect it then undersealing bottom then undersealing and spraying the inside and then wax oiling in the sills and any holes around the joins i can find.

Grinder welded a whole new floorpan into his car lol ive got mine all welded up my an MOT welder and then Waxoyled the underside, should last a while!
