I recently have done a auto to manual and single turbo conversion. I have hooked up pins 8 and 9 for the inhinitor plug. I went to start it and nothing happens when i turn the key, but the headlights and radio work. No speedo or any thing else. I have checked the main fuse but its not that. I dont understand why the lights recieve power and nothing else. And i have checked the power of the battery and am using a car battery and bike together. Does anyone have a clue where i should look next?

Archbish

alarm or immobiliser fitted?  Has it worked since the conversion?

From your description alone, it sounds like you got the wrong 2 pins on the inhibitor. Post up a pic of the auto starting circuit diagram

It has never worked since conversion. I dont have a alarm. And i connected the big 2 wires together on second row most left and right. The 8 and 9

heres a pic

Have you tried just bridging the 2 poles on the Starter direct with a Screw Driver etc to confirm you have current to it?

Also which ECU are you using?

And yes those are the 2 Wires to Bridge,, the 2 biggest wires which I believe is a \'red one and a black one\' (8 & 9)

i was using a pfc but the commander doesnt turn on so at the moment am using stock auto ecu. I will try the screw trick

TRex

Can you get hold of a Manual ECU?
Otherwise with the Auto one connected make sure you have the \'black\' bit of the Harness disconnected and I believe there is something else you need to \'not connect\' if using the Auto ECU.....
Best to get a stock Manual one really... or even a base mapped Apexi should do.

i have tried my pfc and its defo manual and its getting no powe, i tried the screw trick and it sparks like a mo fo, so atleast thats headlights radio and starter motor getting spark.

lol ok it turns out i must be the smartest mechanic here. I left one of the plugs unpluged where i disconnected my turbo timer. So now the car keeps cranking non stop even if the key is out. I had to disconnect the battery to stop it. So i think my starter motor is had it. lol what a joke

Archbish

could just be a stuck solenoid on the starter motor...  I\'d check current at the solenoid, and from that, the key barrel.  With it off, there shouldn\'t be current at either.  Presumably, once the solenoid has charge and has slid forward, the positive from the battery will cause it to turn??

^^^^just a theory...

sounds like you may have turbo timer issue..
dont forget your auto box ecu will have an inhibit circuit to stop you starting it in gear.

jinkies, that sounds like a clue....

does anyone know why when doing a auto to manual swap the starter has to be re wired. When in the wiring diagrams the only difference is the auto has park neutral switch which is replaced with clutch depression switch in manual.

ur lookin at a american diagram. uk and jap manual fds dont have the clutch depressed start. the only thing jap autos have is the inhibitor to stop u from starting in gear. You shudnt have to rewire the starter - just bypass the inhibitor which it sounds like u done.
