If you are going to America, get hold of a kosha Garrett T04s/r or a GT35R

You KNOW it makes sense.

Nar .69 is much too small. You want to be around .84 (small Undivided) and 1.15 (large Divided)

If you want a word of Advice too steer away from the Cheaper Turbo\'s, there are alot out there that are basicly Truck Turbo\'s made for low Exhaust temps and putting one on a Petrol Rotary will kill it in no time.

Your best of buying some thing like an Innovative or Precision Turbo, at least you will end up with a Quality Peice of Kit thats if you buy one from the US, Turbonetics has gone down hill in the last few years.

know nothing about tubros when they are are described buy the size in this format but will take on board the options you hae given me.  Last one i found was aparently too lagy but migh be ok for the drag lot! just gota find one inbetween now

thanks for your comments. will leave this one alone too.  the guy i have been dealing with is a regisitered dealer and has offered a realy good deal on new hks and greedy items but they all are too big for what i want.  trying to get a turbo that suits unported engine.  guna give up soon and buy one over here.  just anoys me that over her they are 400 quid more!

You want a branded turbo (build quality, reliability, longevity etc..).  I have done all this research recently myself I have gone single.

I have gone for a medium sized tub on my unported FD.  This means a compromise between low lag and high boost levels.

T04 flange

Garrett T04s/T04R/GT35R - latter is ultimate medium tub for FD - Roller bearings give lowest spool time = minimum lag

Trust TD-06 25

HKS T04 of some description

There are others as well.  A bigger tub would give higher end boost power, but more lag, tiny tub would give minimum lag but less top end power.

options are 0.84 1.0 or 1.15 A/R (air ratio) hotside - the larger the exit the more top end but more lag, smaller = less lag less power.

cold side should be around 0.7 a/r

you will also need manifold with T04 flange, and external wastegate, and custom downpipe

Any more questions just ask, I can\'t be too technical though just know the basics..

Simon.

What does "precision" turbo mean ?

Get a trusted brand, there are plenty more than I haven\'t listed (cause I don\'t know them).  If in doubt phone call a vendor on the forum like Carl at Hayward Rotary or Ross at Dragon.  They will always be happy to help out.

.81 a/r compressor housing is a little small, I went for the 1.0  Useful if you then get a port at a later (rebuild) date then have the extra capacity ready

Any pics or links to his website ?

Oh well that is good news :Thumbsup!

So could well go for one if the spec is right

I don\'t really know what to make of the turbo\'s spec figures, best bet is talk to a vendor

? To laggy?

Ok in the Turbo world there are Two diffrent Exhaust Housings the Divided and Undivided, if you run a Rotary in a Full Divided set up you can use a Size Bigger and Still keep the same Turbo Responce (i.e. a 1.15 divided will Spool as quick as a .96 undivided)

Turbo\'s are a Subject that you have to realy read up on, There are Hundreds of Turbo\'s out there all do diffrent Jobs, make diffrent Power Curves and have diffrent Sweet spots for the Boost level. You have to think about what you want? (What Budget you have? What Power level? and most of all What do you use the car for?)

I have a feeling your going to fall into the Gt3540 range maybe a bit expencive but its of the shelf :)

BTW if your Looking into Sizes have a trip over to Rx7club.com Forum and look at there single turbo Section there\'s loads on this sort of thing.

im looking to prduce somewhere between 350 nd 400 bhp.  Budget is not a massive issue but i have gone down the route of importing a largeish turbo for a se20det engine from amercia.  I killed the first hks item (that was over 1000) and found a new replacement imported it over and was running 1.6 bar for over 2 years without any probs from turbo.
this has sort of made up my mind to find a suitable turbo for the rex to make the above power figures (have maifold, injectors and intercooler/rad is being made up now oh and fuel pump).  Just the tubby to go.  Hate paying rip off prices over here when i spend time over there and the same items can be sourced for usualy half the cost.  Thats the main reason why.
so im looking for a suitable turbo that can produce the above figures witho out too much lag but realy not sure whn im given the tech spek by the dealer hence the posts on here.
