Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

So I've bought a track car weeks before every track in the country closes

Hey, you sold that at the right time Jon

On a positive note, the roads will be nice and quiet haha!!

Called Llandow today and they are trying to make the 4th work. Talking about holding the safety briefing outside so the day can still go ahead

Few more bits to do, was going to put it all up when I'm done...more dramatic

So decided to make a few changes and tidy up a few bits now I am on furlough and have nothing else to do

So first I wrapped the rear fuel tank cover area with some gloss carbon wrap I've had left over from a few years ago so that was FOC

Then I decided to strip the cage back to remove the stone chips and freshen up as the yellow pain was showing through and was bugging me lol.

Then I thought I would strip some of the stickers and put my own stamp on it. Bought a few decals but have a bit of searching to do on what I want. Once I have everything I will spend a day doing them all....suggestions welcome here. Like to keep it a little simple colour wise but still in theb"track car" theme.

May be a discussion on opinion and legality but I've bought some vintage stick on plates. Still toying where to put the front plate, back on top or below the front grill.....

Also bought some black grill sheeting off flea bay. Going to get the front off and make and install the grill to see what it looks like.

Going to pain the interior all black satin to freshen it up there as well.

Just ordered two new front mud guards, same as what's on it but the ns front is cracked and has cable ties holding it together.

All the things I said I wouldnt do as it's a track car, but.....

Want to sell the 15" pro race 1.2's and get some 13" wheels for the road with 60 profile tyres. Another thing that's driving me mad trying to find tyres. I would love to run staggered 8j rear and 7j front compomotive cxr's. Can get a 205/60/13 r888r or similar but cant find a matching manufacturer that also does a 225/235 rear 13 in a 60 profile. Tried avon zzr, r888r, dz03g, ad08r etc etc. Anyone help?

What else...eerrm.

Oh, when taking off some stickers I found a mark at the rear in a pretty shitty place. Shitty because I'm a bit anal and I will have to have a sticker off centre or have two have one either side lol. I'll post more on my decal hunt, have a black and silver gel domed british flag sticker ordered to see what that looks like with the vintage plate. Also feel I've cut the rear plate too small now

Oh, took off the exhaust system and painted it in a matt exhaust paint then lacquered in gloss. It's a bit like a satin now which is what I was aiming for. Would like to replace the silencer for a carbon wrapped one but that may come at a later date. Jon, couldn't believe how heavy the current one is, would have hit a 1.14 ac combe with a lighter exhaust

I'll add some more pics of what I have done after I post this and obviously update as i do more.

Wow, essay done!!

Front plate on top or bottom....thoughts.

The grill material has quite large holes, may look crap but going to do it to see. Would prefer decent air flow as opposed to smaller mesh however I'm not sure it's in keeping with the car so these plans may change.

Will probably put some new heat wrap on the exhaust by the panel as it's quite close and expect it will be needed after a good track session

Pocture below of interior currently, hope to get this done over the weekend.

I dunno how anyone can be so disrespectful!! After everything has that has been done.

That poor hi-vis jacket on the floor!!! Get a coat peg lolll.

Looking nice there with a little freshen up. Good to see someone making good use of time during lockdown.

Grrrrr insomnia. Someone kill me now !!!

My 2p worth, front plate on the nose cone.

I like the idea of the black plates. PC Plod definitely won’t.

But don’t they say it’s better to ask for forgiveness than for permission?? Summat like that.

Jamie - hope you managed to get some sleep as that was a late/early reply lol. Agree, PC plod may not approve, still have to mull this over as it will spend next to no time on the road.

Jon - ever time I open the garage door I'm spending more money in my head . Do you know anywhere that sells interior and transmission tunnel panels for a sensible price? Was going to buy some sheet metal and make my own but if there is an easy route for sensible money I may consider it. Need to stop spending lol
