Dash in after 2.5 hours of buggering about. 5 attempts to realise where I was going wrong and bits I missed off. Rest of interior to be fitted tomorrow

More dash bits in.
Took a while to get the glove box to fit and had to relocate dsc switch.
Seats and steering wheel in tomorrow

Seats are in.
Also mocked the clocks up. Need super glue!
Need to figure out how to fix them. At first sight they look identical to the mx5 clocks but the lower screw holes don't line up ffs. Top mount is different also.

Only bit I'm not overly happy with. But it works

Today's work included
- piping up heater box
- installing Peugeot 205 washer bottle
- relocating washer jet hosing to opposite side of engine bay.
- taking off manifold to put a bit of 9mm rubber fuel injection hose on instead of the oe nylon hose (which I proper buggered up thinking it was heat shrink d'oh). Not the prettiest job with the fuel hose but it does the job.

Aaannndddd I got Mazda IDS working.
Chinese seller is a complete twat.
Basically its a vcx diag unit in a vcm 2 case.
The software he supplied on the cd was corrupt.
You have to install mazda ids 106, then the update to 106.07. Install ford vcm manager. Install vcx diag manager.
After a lot of head scratching (read that a month of my life!) trying to get the thing working, I succeeded!

Plumbed up the catch tank, like to think I've done it right this time compared to the previous owner. Had oil /vapour print all down the side of the fuse box. As a result everything rusted even more... Weirdly.
Strut brace is also back on, everything fits!
Refitted the front brake lines, ready to bleed.

Trimmed the rx8 maf housing off the box. Elbow is a snug fit behind the bumper bar!
Need to figure out how to block the hole off from the resonator

I know youve already got an oil cooler, But advisable to use the 8 1s if possible they have inbuilt thermostats to get the oil up to temp quicker. Or use an oil thermostat.
