There are oil filter sandwich plate thermostats available that would work...i find  the oil has About a 10 min lag behind the coolant so without a thermostat your prob looking at 20 mins for the oil to get upto working temp roaduse.

Get the cooler mounted tomorrow and radiator.
Managed to get the gauze to fit before the maf housing, may save some hassle in the future. Still working on a way I can block the bottom hole off. Any ideas?

@boosted do you run the gauze/air straightener on your setup? If not any issues?

Yes i run 1...without get a maf refated code. System too lean etc i got through about 3 mafs in the early days before i fitted a gauze and no more issues.

A bit of progress tonight, maf tube sorted. Ended up getting the soldering iron out and welding a plate in the opening. Not pretty but does the job.
Also cut the first bit of tube for air intake. Fits nicely!

Radiator is now in and fixed. Had to drop mounting arm brackets by an inch.

this is the thermostat thingy i was thinking off. not this exact 1 needs some investigation but its doable on your set up.

What did you do with the connections on the irons? Blank them off?

I am assuming so im at the same point as you but ive already got a sandwhich platewith oil temp and pressure worry gauges plumbed into. Not sure if you can stack them.
My understanding is up from sump through filter out of fitting on filter mount that bolts to rear iron...round oil coolers.( or bypassed by there thermostats) back to front iron return to sump. Unsure where the oil on bypass below 80 degress goes?
There are other seperate units you can get but bulky and for me involved a whole redesign that i just have not got round too.

this is the other type that is simple to work out where the oil goes. 4 ports 1. oil in  2. oil out to cooler above 80 deg C 3. cooler return 4. oil back to sump either cooled or bypassed.

this with 1 cooler is a neat simple idea not as neat as sandwich plate if doable mind.
