yes mate, better traction, better braking....my 888s treaded roadlegal versus a A005 Yoko slicks is 2 secs a lap. like limpets in comparisons....i cant drive the car any faster on my 888s. theres more to explore on wider rears...but didnt wanna go too wide as just wouldnt get the heat into them. ive gain 60mm extra track either side as well.

Take it they're softer too? Will you have a detrimental effect if you don't have slicks on the front?

Should be good fun then Iv still got shite tyres on my dx8 think. They're out of balance too. Anything over 85 and it shakes the steering wheel lol

who likes a poke!

New rear wheels arrived...put all the extra width outwards....as no room inside.....sourcing some 240/45/13 a005 yoko slicks which will alter my gear slightly ....maybe a 1.14 in there if i dont rip the axle out with all the extra grip...

there nothing special, minilite copies but perfect off the shelf width and offset and pcd...with nuts and valves £225 delivered for 2. Not that heavy that i felt the need to weigh so bolted up to check my sums and perfect fit with no interference.

just a test to see if more rear grip can get my laptimes down if i does maybe enter a few races later on this year health permitting which seems positive so far.

1.14 would be mid pack 1.17 is back of the pack....i aint bothering to come nearly last too blimin expensive when i can go on trackday instead and blow everything way allday long.
last chance Saloon... :notworthy:
...if it blows up again....im done with it !  :13: :violent1:

They poke a fair way out of the arch...never repaired that arch properly as wanted to go wide on rear about 18 months ago.

Do slick tyres go "off" so to speak after a couple years not doing anything? Delaminate or something along those lines or will a good burn out or few sideways options scrub them up??
