currently waiting on a 54mm socket from Amazon as i borrowed the last 1 from where i used to work, id get a rash if i went back there.
Clive wisely told me to check the rear stat bearing on the new engine which i will do. I have the rear stat housing complete with bearings and oil seal from the HR engine. will see have look when i strip it down.

is the 1 on the right stage 1 Clive? is got double spring in the friction plate.

Practising on old engine...flywheel nut off...thats crazy tight...loads of sealant by mazda.

Interesting rear stat bearing is....perfect!!! This is the old 80k mazda built engine....confused now....done a rear rotor bearing ? Gonna have to be stripped.

Rear rotor bearing ....again...bearing slipped tang ripped out bearing spinning on a groove its made in e shaft....got my moneys worth outta the apex seals....
But why.....so hoping rear stat bearing....the rotor bearing is 3 times the size of the stat bearing...

swapping mods and putting the engine loom out of the front of the engine.

rear stat bearing perfect...

straight away rotor wobbling in housing.

damage on rotor groove for bearing tang.

bearing spun...its stuck there rattling, worn a groove in e shaft.

bit of a mess in ere!

apex seals worn out...was poor hot starting.

why o why am i spinning bearings?

What grade/type of oil are you running? Are you running the front E-shaft bypass valve or an aftermarket delete?

What oil pressure are you seeing in service? Especially at high rpm?

Are you running a modified regulator in the rear position? Which one?

Are you running a modified front cover regulator?
