Well, I think there is lots of good stuff too ;)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

well been alot of internet searching ...head scratching and too and froing....and ive finally come to decision...

I cant drive it any faster in its current guise and its not competitive enough for special gts and this has always been the aim....and i think alot has to do with live axle in the rear. poss 2 secs a lap maybe more...it is a handful.

so after extensive research im putting a mx5 mk1 subframe into the back....hopefully with a rare but available 4.3 lsd.

This gives some massive headaches but i think ive sorted them all out. ( the rx8 subframe is way to big and my 13" wheels wont fit)

the mev exocet kit car pdf build manual been a massive help...this is a kit car  chassis that bolts straight onto a mx5 (miata) rolling ppf.

starting soon here we go again.... :P

There's plenty of stuff available for mx5s, I'm sure you can get any diff ratio you want from racing beat aka Clive just check their website. Glad your keeping it though, all you need now is s turbo after his upgrde

re japi

I think that doing Miata rear might be your best option. Here is a PDF so you can see what parts are compatible and part numbers...

Btw, I sended you text message earlier today. Apparently it didnt come thru... :)

I wonder what is wrong with my phone... :) I dont get it...

Just a thought, how about FC rear? It should be stronger than Miatas. But dont know if its too wide too...

Jon, as far as I know the MX-5 Diff is not only smaller but very weak in comparison.

How about looking at a Sierra Diff which must have been fitted to many kit cars so conversion parts must be readily available.

All the best Clive

I would second Clive's advice...  The sierra viscous LSD is a great bit of kit in the Westie... however they are too long in the standard CWP ratios but normally units can be found cheap on ebay can be fully rebuilt with the ratio of your choice (4.44 or 4.7) for around 800 notes.

That is not bad money for a fully recon'd LSD in your ratio of choice.

I would do that, easier than the retro fit of the mx5 subframe...  I can give you some advice on the places to add additional bracing to the rear end as well.
