Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Bottom lip is stuck out lol.
Bloody headlights...better but still no correct beam pattern...played around and took them out and crap pattern...back to the drawing board....tempted to ring up concept 7 and buy there kit.
On positive note BOOST is fine and even though alignment needs to be done managed a fast sweep round a roundabout and sticks like a limpet.
Idle still dieing at junctions needs tobe addressed.
Pain now but every subsequent mot will be a breeze.

Also anybody offer any insight to idle control....she is idling nicely at 850 to 925 on commander...( higher on rpm gauge) but when coming to junctions she either nearly dies or dies...when she doesnt die drops too 600 rpm and quickly recovers. i wound in the throttle stop to 1100 to get home but hunts then.
I took the IACV off couple of weeks ago, gasket was good and peered inside look ok tome  :-[

the roudn thing on the left of the picture there

Mine was fubared and i removed it. cant remember if i ever got another?

it "dampens" The off throttle response so the throttle cant just completely snap shut

Bobfish

p.s seeing the old heater panel there reminds me - have you fitted the last 2000 spec door card yet?

one of the last things i did was fit the whole 2000 spec trim package i bought but i dont think i ever did the passenger door.

boosted

Ill check if the dampner is there in morning. Does make sense.
Door card not on yet mate. I had a good drive back...lol confirmed boosting ok and no misfires lol.
Theres a real surge  i think 6k ish takes about a 1 sec to get to 7500 lol. She sounds lush too.
I reckon she,ll suit combe well...power corners!
I think abit more tinkering and lights will be fine if not i have a back up plan...i just cant spend 700 quid on new 1s. I can fly to Oz for that.
You gotta love BOOST!

im so glad its all working well for you mate.  As mentioned on the phone i didnt suspect anything was wrong with the car at all but with it being sat i was worried there would be and you wouldnt find out till later.

Im really glad thats not the case! Cant wait to see her again back in her former glory. I seriously might cry when i do though (or try and buy it back off you)

re japi

@bobfish been hampered alot by illness and op complications but if i was not at home i would not have seen your ad and somebody else may have bought it and be being broke now...mot wise its the 1 job left the headlights and have several options available.few other jobs but where through the majority and i love tinkering in the garage.
@japi. Uk wagon wrx. 2l turbo boxer engine 5 speed. 215 bhp..i had a few jobs todo on it new calipers as common fault and uk cars come with 3 cats! The uppipe to turbo cats are common for failing and making a right mess in the turbo so thats been decatted...and really frees up a few ponies. Its got a nice standard quiet exhaust on it. As i live rural its great for b road commute to work at 5.30 am.
