spent ages searching on internet about PCM failure and a few cases but very rare....have not be able to find out what IC675 does so maybe barking up the wrong tree but im hoping this it and fits with fault....the debris in the top of injectors would have been affecting flow and making the inj driver work harder....
I also looked under the bonnet of the neighbours car and the PCM is aircooled so im goona have to come up with a solution for my install as mine is housed in a sealed box.
Jus hope this is it...ive got a complete PCm set up coming from ebay and waiting on a call back from LC rotary. whichever gets here first gets stuck it....hoping to drive a fixed car to Mazda Day! :D

Hope the ECU swap is the solution, but I have to say it sounds a long shot to me.

The possible chip damage - have you had a close look with a magnifying glass? I can't see it well enough in the pic, but I've seen a fair few failed chips in my day as an IC reliability engineer (1980's-1990's). Usually, if there is a localised fault on the chip, there can be a small "eruption" in the plastic material, which quite distinctly will show a changed "phase" in the plastic around where some gas escaped and the localised heating caused the plastic to melt around the gas exit hole. My immediate reaction on seeing the picture you showed was that it wasn't a sign of a chip failure  :-[

Hi Casey i had alook under the magnifying stand at work but actually zooming in my samsung note phone shows red blotch under the board coating followed by 2 small specks where i percieved the ic gates/junction would be....but yes clutching very tightly at straws lol...ive seen solid state relays at work with melted bubble on them.....the other pcm i had no marks on it....but yes long shot tome too .  I just hope it is ive changed everything else....

I would say that's a production ink dot. It might mean the chip was tested to be in a certain "tolerance" band, different colouring for different bands, or simply a test/production marker of some sort. It doesn't look like a mark made by a blown chip, sorry. Could be wrong of course, just my observation.

Well its revving out now  8) still a slight flutter miss, but i'm putting this down to now needs a learn.....The new ecu is in and first run massive wall at 7k...so was mighty peeved. I done a code read and got P0661.....( why the last pcm has not triggered this ill never know and has cost me 6 weeks :angry5:)

so ive resitance checked the solenoids...ive manually moved the vdi and ssv actuators and ive moved them with a vacuum pump. but i had;nt electrically operated them whilst car running....SSV just clicking and twitching......swapping onto unused airpump.

Re-japi....yep summit simples! ^-^

Needs a good drive Gaydon to confirm ! O0 :P 8)
