pretty straight now. x3 relieving cuts and pushed back out. Got some bushes to change and then to geo for final tweaks.

Made a big decision for no more racing ( lol 1) for this year season nearly over.
Axle is being removed and rebuilt. new bushes all round axle tube mounts rewelded with correct alignment and then get it ready for a full season assault next year.
possible piggy back adaptronic for a bit more power etc.
Gives the bank account chance to recover.

Adaptronic will not give more power Jon.
We warranty our rebuilt engines for Detonation, track day\'s and RWYB and NOW for 30 months which is two and half years or 30,000 miles

Right head hurt time been messing about with online diff calculators and by my maths a 4.7 diff will limit my top speed to 120mph but make for rapid acceleration....

stock r3 with 4.7 diff top speed is 146mph but rolling 19s with a wheel diameter of 26 inches.

Westfield is on 13" wheels with 21.5"

so 146 / 26 equals 5.61

so 5.6 X 21.5 equals 120.7 mph

which means im goona top out 1 or twice defo up to avon rise i\'m gonna run out of gears.

by tweaking diff calculator i think i need a 4.4

Well been quiet for a bit! for me!

been busy elsewhere and been flip flopping decisions to take....

Well decisions made the only way to get it nearer to the front is to independent suspension the rear end to smooth out coombes uneven surfaces and give the slicks the camber they need....

was gonna get another chassis but that meant the front would need to be cut n shut again so doing a live axle to IRS conversion....kitcar forums say its a lot of work for little gain.....I only want a little gain!

Car is off for geo for the front end 22nd and as long as that all good then the conversion will take place!

rear track is going to be widened same as front and plan at paper stage is to MX5 the rear end. My welder buddy is well on the case with drawings and measurement etc.

he\'s helping me and to return the favour im gonna help him rx8 power his mgb !

may change my mind again but hey its out there now!

re japi

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Where taking the rolling chassis to a Westfield repair specialist for a 2nd impartial opinion and check over before building back up. Its got to be right.

Well....my mojo\'s back! Got to be honest nearly removed my loom and stuck the thing on ebay highest bidder wins but after 2 months of sticking the car in the trailer outta sight and trip to Castle Combe my desire to race is back!

after my crash which came at the worst time with funds low and the nature of the crash being " what the feck happened there"....live axle? shock spring etc and sheds loads of internet searching live axle versus irs!

any way i think the backend of my car has has been bodged by a previous owner and now will commence a full rebuild. so stripped the axle out today and unearthed a few horrors that have comfirmed that theory. looks like we\'ve been steering from the rear!

was gonna convert to irs but so much work and as i keep reading a properly set up live is no compromise on track!

pictures tell the story...

chassis suspension mount broke off undoing bolt!
