Next winter project!

pretty much finished the wiring today but gonna do an electrical systems check tomoz before i wrap it all up just wanna check it now and a little doubt has crept in.
1. with ecu and cas unplugged livin up and check no fuse poppage!
2. With ecu and cas plugged in and spare engine connected up can go to position 2 and check does system start up check etc.
...hopefully then can wrap all cables and mount fuse box before alloy infill panels go back on...

If that goes well then start to build up race engine.:chat

I think im gonna get up early....having the engine back given me added boosted. Gotta get the electrics tested then full guns blazing to get it all back together.

Well, half expected it tbh,

Have ignition, relay clicks in followed shortly by cas immobiliser relay. But no start up routine or start relay click...no fuse poppage or smoke so happy no immobilser. looks like ecu no powering up as cant get comms from scanner. so its check connections and general head scratching ! easier this way as have not wrapped loom yet.

Got spare engine  hooked up to electrics as well bit of a wierd science going on .

SORTED SORTED SORTED... made a little error lost a feed to ecu....nobodies perfect.

Hacked my tidy loom apart...doh ... we have engine start up routine. we have comms with ecu....we have lovely pre start whine.

Some how a wire got crossed...need to look at my fan feeds as eng comp 1 went to the 1 side of the coils here....same colour doh....

Chuffed chuffed chuffed...commissioned enough dairy machinery in my time to know i had todo this....woulkd have been better not to make the mistake in the first place!.

Yep 1 feed to ecu missed, fans and low power relays switch negatively from pcm so all connected back up.

Great stuff, are you using the rx8 ecu? Your going to have to get some miles on the car so the ecu can self adjust and learn for the extra added awesomeness!

yeah 500 miles run in, just as well got a day time mot...if i had aftermarket would\'ve been so much easier. Motorway me thinks. Bath, swindon loop then trackday morning oil change at lunch, raise revs slightly for 2.5 hours. Then 1 hour left full beans. 21st  April first race loads todo....final job make over and get rid of BRG!

all switches sorted.
ecu to be mounted on bulkhead, once the bulk head wrap to get rid of brg.
Relay and fuses mounted up under dash...got to fabricate a shelf as cable tied at mo. 1 snip drops down for diagnosis.

Back is killing me BEER TIME. Bit behind schedule as battery not yet in.
