thanks, shame its winter now though, not that we had a summer over here :(

so engine almost ready, just in the process of making a plate so i can mount the hockey puk\'s on the alloy engine mount. coil\'s relocated...just needs tidying up and painting. also braised up some old omp valves instead of bolts for a nice tight fit as ive removed the omp.

Interested to see your engine mounts.. I made some for my old car out of some other off the shelf AV rubber mounts that were more heavy duty and some ally spacers.  Worked a treat and were not too harsh either.

wow, its been a while since i touched the car. been turning the engine over weekly though.

cleared the garage out and got the peril back in its lair for the winter work once again. forgot how stiff the car was after working on the daily, which is also lowered. jacked one front corner so the wheel was only just off, looked at the rear which also came up, which it always has. walked around the other side to take the other front off, and that was also off the ground haha

got all this to sort out, what a mess it looks.

karl_tate

wow its been a while since i have touched the yellow peril... jesus

so where do i start, well i have been turning the motor over regularly and every now and then put a heater in the garage to keep the little beast warm :p :p

i have now ordered a new turbo, borg warner s366 so i need a new manifold.

talk to me.... what does the design affect, what type of material should i use, wall thickness, OD size, flange thickness etc etc

i can get one made by a friend so anything is possible.

moving up i need a turbo flange, is this any good

I have a Greddy Turbo Kit which includes a greddy manifold. If you are interested in my greddy manifold, I can find some for the turbo and the rest of the kit. Check my for sale thread. Cheers

I\'m not sure that many people really know. Most of the time people buy off the shelf from the tuners. Rx7club does have some info but it\'s gets technical very quick. I have a book about intake and exhaust design but it\'s not that much use.

Best recommendation is try and keep the runners equal.

If it was me I would look at a good few manifolds and come up with something along those lines! As Shaun says trying to keep runners at equal lengths is quite important. diameter of tube wise Bigger is not necessarily better. You need enough size to get the gas out of the engine but small enough to have good air speed entering the turbo and get good spool. But the I guess that depends on what your power goal is and where you expect your power band to be..

Good luck with it.. Within reason as long as the joins have a nice smooth transition and the shape is flowing I don\'t think you can go too far wrong!?
