You need to edit your own I think, should it not read \'brown is the new beige\'? :Giggle

Brett

Damn.... How long has THAT typo been there?!?

Anyway, brown is the fastest colour.

Quote from: Kevint;793901Please take the time to re-read Clive\'s post in the link above. In particular where Clive says he abstained from any decisions surrounding Nik because of his fondness for him.

Thanks

As the issue concerns a member, the thread in question is in the "members only" section of the forum. You can always sign up as a full member and then you can take a look..............:)

I think after all this quite a few wont be renewing memberships next time.
After being an FD owner for eight years i have seen a big change in this site and not for the better.
Give some people a little bit of power and it goes straight to their heads.

If you are bold enough to make such a statement then presumably you are also going to post the examples?

Seeing as he\'s banned he\'s not a member, is he?

Did he get a refund?

So closing Ada7\'s post is not a good example then, I found it quite pathetic.

Brett

I think that\'s already been covered in great detail, and the thread was reopened at the memberships request.

FYI it was initially closed because it was deemed there were not enough mods on site to monitor it at the time. This is standard practice on many forums at times of heightened tension.

I\'m sorry you feel this was an abuse of power, but from a moderation point of view it was the correct and proper thing to do.

Without dragging this up again so to speak Brett, i completely disagree with this statement, this thread was re opened, possibly at my request in the members section and if the mods agreed with the statement above it would have remained closed regardless of peoples views of the correctness of it being locked.

The thread and posts have run within forum rules barring one completely unintelligent and poorly worded offering from someone with an axe to grind who is obviously not blessed with the ability to converse as an adult! But lets not the discuss the irony of somes offerings.

Sometimes, just sometimes, members and guests should be given some credit as to our ability to speak freely as we have here without the need for as mentioned above, over moderation!

Brett

I totally understand your POV, I\'m thinking from previous history of similar occasions etc where things have gotten seriously out of hand whilst the mods are away eating, drinking, working etc.

As I said above, sorry if you feel it wasn\'t right. It became clear that wasn\'t going to be an issue and we re-opened the thread.

In other news thank :censored::censored::censored::censored: it\'s Friday!

The forum never sleeps....:Giggle

Anyway, i know its been a busy week for you guys and more often than not you dont get the credit you deserve!

As said before, I would be sure Nik is comfortable with the decision as in essence he was given the choice or at least fair warning!

The thread in the members section perhaps discuss\'s the finer points of the process but not the decision, im not sure thats ever been in question, well maybe the lifetime bit!

Have a good weekend :)

I like Nik and get along with him well and have had no trouble with anything he has posted on my threads as I saw it merely as jesting, but I will say that he was given fair warning from what is posted by Clive.
It is certainly wrong that on another forum that there is the intimation is that he was not aware of why action was taken on here, he clearly was.
