Umm, to be honest, I haven\'t seen anything by Nik that I would deem offensive, but I may not have looked in the right places, but, at the end of the day, it\'s Clive\'s club, he has final say, its his reputation at stake. If he takes offence to something then its his perogative as to the action.

It\'s a shame it got so far as to banning someone for life, but I guess Nik really should have taken the warnings if he had any intention of staying on here.

Please take the time to re-read Clive\'s post in the link above.  In particular where Clive says he abstained from any decisions surrounding Nik because of his fondness for him.

In defence of the team buddy, Nik was given the choice it would seem, i am sure he is comfortable with his actions and if his free speech is taken away, well it wouldnt have been Nik posting, but a truncated version of him.

So for the people who enjoyed his posting of then, we perhaps wouldnt have enjoyed the banter so much if he was choosing his comments carefully!

I have never met Nik, although I can recognise the man, however from his comments on here he seems a reasonably intelligent chap who would no doubt realise the consequences of his actions in this matter.  He made the choice to remain controversial despite requests from the moderation team for the forum, he\'s certainly eloquent enough to make his point without troubling the swear filter and could have kept many of his more extreme views on pet-care to himself, he did not and therefore left them in a position where they had no choice but to take action.  I am sure he\'s being kept appraised of the situation as I know he has close friends on here and part of me thinks that there is a part of him taking some enjoyment from the hubbub being created by the situation.

It\'s not of personal concern, although I am not impressed by any suggestion of animal cruelty, and it wasn\'t the comments specifically that were personally distasteful, to be honest, other than the animal thing and his somewhat narrow view on the relative merits of different rotary powered Mazdas, I was both interested and amused by Nik\'s posts from time to time.  However no one should be beyond reproach and when politely requested to moderate his ire and consider his rhetoric he seemed to turn up, rather than turn down, the wick on both.  I fear that forced the forum admins and mods into a corner as to how best to deal with him.  It is a shame that this course of action came to pass but it looks like they were left with few options in this matter.

Most of the time its stressfull tbh.
But it makes for a pleasant place to talk about our passion for the rotary engine
And that makes it worth wile.
