Still no one with gumption to actually say why they have reported him, that says a lot to me

Jetpilot I\'ve gone to the trouble of going through the reported posts so you\'ve accurate data Nik has himself reported one post and been reported 39 times and aprox 75% of the time it was a full club member that reported him hope this helps and also clears up for Mark why it is impossible to do a accurate summary of the reasons for the ban prior to its implementation.

Of these 39 reported posts how many actual users were there? 39 reported posts from anything less than 5 users would constitute a witch hunt IMO

Jit I\'m still working so don\'t have the time for a exact count but I\'d say only a handful where by the same person more than 2-3 times sorry I\'ve expended way too much time on this now you either take what we say as correct or don\'t. One person however popular to a few vocal posters will not be allowed to monopolize our time to this extent any more.

They will not nor would I want them to do that Jetpilot in fact I would go as far as to tell them not to, there Is a system in place and that is the way it should stay we have enough bun fights on here without a system that encourages more.

Well, we all have a different opinion on such, if anyone had offended me, i would have no issue in letting others know if it warranted the justification for me having to hit the report button that it was that serious i.e someone abused my family, was actively racist (not the pretend pc rubbish of these days). something equally beyond banter between adults!

If it was a case of foul language being used that got him reported, would it be possible to have a separate section of the forum that can only be accessed by over 18\'s? That way if you look at a thread in that section you know that the likelihood is it will have a swear word or two in it (it can even be censored swearing). This would eliminate anyone accidentally being offended.

 Nik is a very \'marmite\' like type personality, you either get him or you don\'t, he\'s straight talking and says it as he see\'s it...
I personally found him to be great entertainment and liked his style.
Others may not and take offence.. thats life..

 I don\'t know the reasons surrounding this drama and also don\'t really care.

What I do know is, the Euro is in a bad state, unemployment is at a record high and getting banned from a \'Car club\' which has a \'known crap record\' with dealing with issues is certainly no heartbreaker!


 Besides it was no secrete he didn\'t like the MRC anyways... :2Rolleyes

Well said! :Thumbs-up I\'m sure I said something similar earlier but not quite with the same impact.

Not sure about the \'know crap record\' bit - we do try our best but yes we do make mistakes. Of the six forums I\'ve been a member of I actually think this is one of the best for dealing with compliants. I know I\'m a bit bias but I\'m also a Moderator on another two.

In relation to an over 18\'s section I don\'t think that would help. The sort of things we take action on are offensive to all. Many adults don\'t like swearing etc and I dread to think what sort of stuff might get posted. I know you can argue that we don\'t have to look but it\'s difficult on a forum like this.

It\'s a car forum - there are plenty of other sites for that sort of thing (so I\'m told :Giggle).

We are not discussing the bad state of the euro, we are not suggesting it is life or death etc etc as we all know there are far worse things going on in the world, hardly the topic but if you want to discuss more pressing matters please feel free to start a thread!!
