I don\'t have anyone to recommend, but we \'safely\' ran bolts with cut down heads on them on my mates golf a while back. Just a case of cutting them down so they\'d not catch, and also so we had enough head to still tighten the bolt properly.

Doable, but not ideal. I\'d not run it that way for drifting, but I\'d be happy with it on the street, day to day.

Yeah that\'s the thing, I need the setup to be as tough as possible to be honest :/ What centre bore do I need, guess it\'s the same as Nissan (66mm) seeing as I\'m not running spigot rings or anything with my wheels?

Bit of a problem to report. Was putting in my gauge holder tonight which meant unplugging the boost gauge from the radio loom, unplugging the vac line, putting it in the holder and then wiring it all back up. The gauge and the radio used to light up the second i turned the key, but now they are only coming on when I switch on the sidelights :/ Everything\'s wired up exactly the same, I\'ve tried unplugging the battery in case it was a grounding issue, I\'ve started the car just for the sake of it, nothing seems to make any difference :S

The wires in question are the red and black ones from the radio loom. Both worked fine before! Any ideas?

Loving the vert (but I am biased ;) ) how do you find the welder when driving daily? Thinking of welding mine but I use it to get to work and back daily. Would it be a good idea to get a spare and weld it or just wel mine you reckon?

else exidy 6 puk or a orc carbon pro if you feeling rich ;p

The welded diff is horrible to be honest, all it does is fight the DTSS and reak havoc. I\'ve driven a few S-bodies with welded diffs and you can\'t really feel them that much, in the vert it never lets you forget about it! I\'d like an LSD ideally to be honest, but as the car is no longer my daily I\'m sure I can live with it.

Depends on how often you\'re drifting it to be honest. If you\'re taking it on track say, once a month then it might be an idea to have two diffs (Ant from Japspeed welded mine and said it was a piece of cake to get it out the car compared to, say, an Mx-5).

But if you\'re going to be skidding at every opportunity (like me :P) stick with the welded all the time.

Personally, I\'ve got very little problem with the welder day to day, but I guess I\'m pretty tolerant!

Good news.

Bad news. (why?!)

Good news.

Damn straight!

Because Ross (who stuck the wheels and splitter on in the first place) offered me pretty decent moneys for the wheels plus the OEM ones...and the S13 splitter. Seeing as mine had pretty much illegal tyres all round and the OEM ones are fine it wasn\'t too bad of a deal. Thinking of getting the Weds Kranzes off the dude selling the red Vert on eBay (and here, actually) as they\'re a good fitment and will also cure my front rubbing issues...unless you can find some again!?

Nothing too bad\'s happened thankfully! It\'s just the car was taking over everything I was doing and determined what I was doing and where I could go. To be honest, it was the petrol costs that got to me the most. Obviously I knew it wasn\'t going to be great but I thought I could live with it...driving a car that does 50-60mpg for the last two weeks has put things into perspective really. I love the car and really want to keep it but without a more efficient powerplant under the bonnet I don\'t think I can carry on with it :( I emailed Mitch at Drift Garage about the possibility of doing an SR20 swap but it was decided that it\'d be a ridiculous amount of work so the idea was shelved.

I\'ll probably sell the S13 splitter shortly, I\'ll let you know :)

Buy a more economical second car, I have a Volvo V40 1.9D sports lux as my second car, get the FC on a limited mileage classic car policy, as soon as you sell it you will think: if only I had my FC. I have found it was cheaper to run 2 cars than it was to run the rx7 full time, all other cars are a downgrade from an FC.

M1tch, me and Ali just aren\'t old enough to insure 2nd cars for a reasonable price, otherwise I\'d do so too. But when all your NCB goes on the fast, fancy car, then the premium on something small is extortionate if you\'re below 25. Last year at 22 I got quotes on a 1.1 of £700 or so, with a car valued at about £300! Anything bigger was £800-£1000.

For those of us out there who\'re young and without well paid jobs, it\'s a stupid choice of car. I\'ve just persevered more than most!
