Skids:

Got some better pics to come.

Where do you go skidding at if you don\'t mind me asking? I\'ve been thinking about having ago myself for quite a while now, but there is no where near me to do it legally.

I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

I\'m constantly battling myself over drifting my car, they do drift days for like £10 not far from me. I do really want to do it, but i just don\'t know if i want to put the car at risk :(

Are you a man or not? :p

B.Martin

Its not about being a man, its about not wanting to kill my FC :p

It was done at Buxton Raceway, it\'s only a tenner to drift normally but those pictures were from a private drift day that we had there on Saturday.

To be honest I\'m constantly worrying about damaging my car as it\'s hardly as common as an S13/S14, nor is it as easy to get parts for when it (inevitably) breaks. But the way I see it is it\'s already got holes in it (the wings) and dodgy patches of paintwork so it\'s hardly in concours condition. I bought it for skidding so I might as well use it for that. When the paintwork\'s ruined, I\'ll get it redone. If the bodywork gets damaged, I\'ll stick a bodykit on. Although sometimes I do wish I\'d bought a tatty S13 to rag the nuts off.

Buxton is tough on cars as it\'s got a big concrete wall all the way round it. Places like Oulton Park and Santa Pod have hardly anything to hit so there\'s a lot less at stake damage-wise.

TiddlesRX7

Yeah I think Oulton is the nearest I\'ve found so far. Its still the best part of an hour and 3/4 drive each way though. If your going to Oulton in the next few months I\'d like to join you if your up for it. FC\'s FTW!

I see your point Ali, I brought mine as a fast road and weekend car with perhaps the drift/track option on the side. My car in it\'s current state (stock) is not drift worthy anyhow but when it is I\'ll have another think about it. Getting parts for an FC in the uk is one thing getting them to Cyprus is another! Good to see you drifting yours though mate :)

That\'s not too bad to be fair, it\'s about 40 minutes from me so we\'ll have to hit it up some time!

True, I can\'t imagine there being many FCs over there, let alone parts stockists!

B.Martin

There is a max of 5 including mine known here by the sound of it, 2 are cabs and 1 is s4 turbo or egi, which I think leaves mine and 1 other s5 coupe. I have only seen the S4 one, 2 are owned by one guy and not driven I am told. I think the final one is in Nicosia not many have seen it. So yeah, finding parts would have to be uk or Japan and shipping them here would not be cheap!

ali303

Probably not the best idea to drift it hard then!

Just been tagged in another skidding picture:

It isn\'t him driving though :p

Haha nope, that\'s my mate having a go as he\'s pretty epic usually. This was moments before the clutch ate itself (no surprise really considering this is how he usually rolls):

In other news I\'ve managed to get myself a new job, so the project\'s back on :D

ali303

Car seems to be running ok at the moment apart from some slight rubbing issues between the front left wheel and the coilover spring on hard lock, so more spacers required! I had a nosey round yesterday and I\'m currently running 8mm slip-ons on the front which is hardly ideal, so preferably I need some bolt-ons. At the moment the gap between arch and tyre is the width of my index finger just before the knuckle, which according to my ruler is something like 18mm (accurate technique, I know! :P). Theoretically a 20mm bolt-on spacer should do the job (after removing the 8mm slip-on) but to me the wheels sit nicely in the arch at the moment without looking ridiculous so I can imagine an extra 12mm would make it look a bit...tacky. I originally thought a set of 15mms would do the job, but apparently I might need to shave the studs down to get those to fit?

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know...and also which brand to go for as there are so many! I originally was going to get them from Driftworks because I need them ASAP and they do next day delivery, but it appears they only have 25mm items :(
