Seem quite reasonable cost - and apparently his are 4mm thick ally :)

Do i need an FD alternator to fit a dual belt system? I emailed dragon and they say that their dual alternator pulleys are only for the FD?

B.Martin

Just been contacted by someone via RX7club, check these out and they are made for the FC as well.

Dual alternator pulley and 2 belts - http://banzai-racing.com/store/86-91_rx-7_pulley_belt.html

And all the blanking plates for all S4/S5 turbo and non - http://banzai-racing.com/store/FC_block_off_plates.html

FD alternator won\'t fit without some bodging - you should be able to source dual alt pulley for 13BT (s4/s5) engines.

Yeah mate, that Bazai-racing one i posted above is for the S4/S5 engines and will cost around £70 posted for the dual alternator kit and the blanking plates.

For all that - sounds like a good price :)

That\'s a good price!

I\'ve got a mate who can make the blanking plates (the same guy who did mine, they are really good quality!) about £30 + postage I\'d have thought, and you can normally get dual alternator belt pulleys for £20-£25 on here.

The belts are 800mm long - in Halfords the part number is HB800a :p Sad I know!

Im running all emission stuff removed with duel alt pully only thing i noticed is sometime the low down rpm can be a little unresponsive. E.g. Trying to do 30 in 4th dost like it as your too close to being off the peddle and on it so it sometimes jerks but if your in 3rd its fine but the engine spins up faster.
Next job for me is mr2 power steering pump and remove that belt driven one and put a better alt on as the stock alt can\'t charge the battery with all stereo and lights on properly does charge but its slower and not at a good 14.4v all the time. But yes removing airpump is good

Billy... I have just grown to like you a lot... What\'s this about an MR2 steering pump and better alternator?

Cheers - but that site taught me a lot - there can never be too many sites or people who keep us going with knowledge, experience, parts - let\'s not forget that our Aus and US counterparts have been in the game for longer than we have - and they had the car\'s for longer (plus there\'s more of them).

This is interesting as I\'ve removed the air pump and driving at 2k in any gear is jerky when just trying to maintain a steady speed.

I drives me mad, could this be the reason?

I started with nothing and I have most of it left

That really does sound like a TPS problem - the throttle sensor can give a \'dead-spot\' which is between 1000 and 2000 revs.

Try this:

With the car in Neutral and warmed up, gradually increase the revs - you will probably find a point where you it will cycle up and down about that point - being ok below it and ok above it.

If that\'s what you are seeing - then the TPS is probably in need of adjustment or possibly has a bad contact point on the wiper track.

What\'s \'TPS\' ?
