I find it worrying when someone asks for help in an area and get the totally wrong answer from someone who really doesn\'t have the foggiest!!!!...just internet surfers who are perceived to know alot but know squat!.....( this isnt directed at you per say, its just a general observation, as i see it loads on this forum and others )

anyway back on track.....hows your build going?

Point taken Ed

Blimey Syed I stirred up a hornets nest here,,

At the end of the day whoever is building your engine (unless DIY) it will be whatever they feel confident enough fitting as they will not guarantee the build if they feel the parts they are using will fail which is probably why OEM is the normal, I bet most builders would not guarantee the build if you requested other specific parts to be used instead.

However as development goes on things will change,, who 10 years ago would have thought billet rotors would be available today.

Bad Luck about your\'s not being ready for RS you will get it back just in time for the winter mate :cool  Fantastic !!

I heard a rumour on a forum from a friend of a friend who\'s missis told him the she read on another forum that best indestructible apex seals are made from cryptonite. Even superman can\'t break them apparently

True story.

Please don\'t curse me lollll winter??? Well I just shared my experience and blitz shared his. In all honesty I respect blitz for his knowledge and Ed is just my challenger lolll (Ed before you start on me, I m joking :) lolll).

I had an experience with the following seals

2mm OEM - I blew them
2mm- Hurley complete set of new seals- I blew them twice!
2mm Aviation- I blew them
3mm OEM- Never blew them, they remained intact after sever det

Currently running 2mm OEM and happy with compression and Job.

My mates have blown PTS and Rice RAcing speaks badly of them. Check his threads please.

So the results are clear for me. Except, SCS and 3mm apex seals, literally all the other seals were broken either in my car or in my mates Fds.

I heard alot about Skern Racing Seals, apparently they hold 800bhp on a daily driver 3 rotor Fds, but I have never seen them nor I heard bad things about them.

Cryptonite seals is the only way forward syed. And they look cool because they\'re green.

Well Richard prior in the superman films managed to make cryptonite out of certain ingredients. There was only one UNKNOWN, so he just used nicotine. Cheap and cheerful, lol.

Ohhh I like green! Can you text me the post code of the provider so I can use my Tom Tom to go there and buy them lolll :)

Mir i would not take Rice Racings words as gosple as he has no credability in the rotary community in australia. He is well know for being his magical hands on a latop with result in catastrophic blow ups in his interstate tuning session..

I have SCR seals in my car in australia and also my new engine ive built here and they have never let me down.. Hurleys on the other hand - now they are junk!! would not touch them with a 10ft pole!!

Mir

@12at, thanks for sharing! Appreciate that!

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

SCR seals in my engine have lasted 100+ dyno pulls, well over 50 qtr mile runs. just cleaned them up over the winter and put them back in. dosent start too bad for one piece either ;)

Just a small update guys. We made 580 RWHP on .8bar of a boost at 5 and half RPM (on a wastegate spring). We are having small issues with the fueling so, planning to map it to a 650-680RWHP . The boost bar will remain the same or may be 0.9 bar the max. The bosch pumps are playing up :(. Pip is not convinced so he may change the fuel pumps, use one pump for a time being or change the entire settings. I got to give him a credit for that.
