If it still won\'t go, whip plugs out - easy on FB - and into an oven or gas hob replace plugs as hot as possible, but don\'t overtighten because of alloy block (13 ft lb).

With the plugs out, I pull the fuel pump fuse then spin the engine over a good few times to blow the excess fuel out of the chambers.... otherwise the plugs just get soaked again and you\'re back to square 1.

i\'ve heated up the plug on a petrol strimmer as she was a basket to get started after been left a few years lyin at the back of the garage.

i was just wondering, as was at a loss as to how to start the fb i went to see, knowing nothing about the older engines, choke etc.
i had thought about taking the plugs out and heating them, but hadn\'t time nor equipment to do it, its good advice to spin over the engine to drive the excess fuel out, would leaving the plugs out for a few hours also help the fuel evaporate without needing to turn her over?

RAC man showed me that start ya bas\'tard spray, oz equivlent of easy start spray, i thought it was just a joke but he likes to get a laugh out of people when he shows them it as they\'re usually depressed when broken down etc.

ive finally got my newly ported and built engine back in my FB with its new injectors and ecu setup.. Hope to get it MOT\'d and back on the road soonish depending on work..

Thanks John, I\'ve seen something similar before.

It could be about right if it\'s taken as the data held in 2007 for cars of the year shown.

So in 2011, I currently have:

50 Series 3\'s - Roadgoing or Rally fit. - therefore in MOT Stats - (1984 - 1986)

29 Series 2\'s - Ditto - (1981 - 1984)

5 Series 1\'s - Ditto. - (1979 - 1981)

To be remembered I include all of British Isles, not just Eng, Scot, Wales like DVLA.

Maybe low on S2\'s though....Is that because more have come off SORN to play?

You can take S2 JOU188X off the list, if it was on there. I had it crushed this morning.
