do you know something we don\'t ?

Quote from: antnicuk;770817IThe blue one has a japanese 12a engine that Tim at RX motors supplied. These were turbo charged from mazda and had lower compression. It still runs the elford turbo and inlet though, not the jap injected stuff.

Sorry to be thick, but I have wondered for a while..... How do they drop the compression ratio of a Rotary? They presumably are not different housings or Rotors, so do they just machine more out of the faces of the rotors to leave more space when compressed? If so, what else does this do to the combustion shape / efficiency / emissions etc?

The Silver S2 RYE,....No, nothing, but I could imagine bolting a new wing on, sourcing some S2 front seats, using our newly discovered bars of clay on it and.....away we go...:3gears-rh

That engine bay says \'I\'ve had a good home at some time recently\'.

the rotors have different sized wells/chambers in them, but they are made by mazda like it.  All models have had different comp ratios throughout history. The turbo II and FD are the same comp ratio but the rx8 and egi are different, asi is the 12a turbo compared to the 12 carbed non turbo one.  The series 4 turbo (turbo I not made in the uk) had lower compression than the turbo II and a popular upgrade for people wanting to run higher boost safely, this is the same for the 12A turbo engine.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

interesting stuff... what boost were you running on the Elford setup with the JMD engine?
