Hi to the 1st Gen section, yes i have a modified FD, and i did own a 1st Gen some years ago, so looking forward to buying this one, will be kept standard and restored, i will be phoning him today.
Just going to have a look around for car transporting from fife, anyone that has contact with transporters would be helpful.
Cheers. John

Might be a dumb question...but mine seems a bit wallowy, not twitchy, but feels a little vague on the rear end...is this a possible culprit?

You can soon see Marc....look into the back wheel arches and see if the rear axle top link arm still has a solid reinforced mounting plate each side. Has either plate cracked or rusted through?
I\'ve had a look at the pics where you and Gareth did the sill repair but can\'t see the links very well.

The body/axle thrust including side thrust must be transmitted through these links and through the bottom links so yes, must be a possible culprit. Shaun said his was wallowy until he repaired it.

Hi John. If you don\'t mind would you let us know if you do buy it. (I can then move its location on my register from Scotland to Sussex).

Also can you remember the 1st Gen reg you did own? It might be on my register (or still out there and not yet seen).

Cheers Dave.

The bushes are the most likely culprits.... the car\'s 27 years old and probably on the original rubber bushes which will be well past their best.
My 1st series 3 was only 4 years old when I bought it and was as tight as a drum and handled great but no 1st gen I\'ve had in recent years handles as well.... all have had that \'wallowy\' rear end but the radius arm points were sound on all the cars....  time taking its toll on the bushes I reckon.....
We\'ll soon find out when I put the polys on the car!

this car has been bid up to £190 with 7 days still to go....
am I missing something here?

Doesn\'t seem that good to me either.
Do you remember the white S3 that was up in Rossendale late on last year? He was getting offers well below that for a complete car!
So we must be missing something Ian - shall we bid on it too to find out what it is?  hmmm ..... no I don\'t think so.

when you consider this car is complete and reasonably unmolested and only £400.....

I know where my money would be going.
