I don\'t know why you are knocking this guy,if you personally don\'t want to pay the price then don\'t contact him to buy one,I am sure others will be more than interested.
Each to his own.
I sold my roof recently for £250.00 so the day\'s for that price is here and now I am afraid, and I had people complaining that I had not told them that I had the roof.
If you get one from the states it would cost more than £200.00 including transport and duty and the like and ontop of that it might not arrive intact either.
Regards
Carl

I definitely wont be contacting  him so that he  can  take the p**s out of me.

Ok, so you sold yours for £250.... that just means that you managed to drop on one person who doesn\'t know the true value of a roof panel, not that a piece of toughened smoked glass has suddenly doubled in price.

If people are gullible enough let greedy traders and vendors turn them over, that\'s their problem.
£300 for a roof panel, dream on.

Thanks for the "greedy trader" remark.
All I did was try to help a guy who could not get on here himself even though he signed up:(

Anyway\'s the chap might well be selling something that is just what someone else really wants and you Ian65 might have been selling it for double what he might offer it out at.
I only put one price up of one thing what he was offering for sale.

I don\'t understand any of that. What are you getting at?

Who fed him that they were worth £300? The FB fellowship should stand strong and not buy them to set the precedent.

Absolutlely spot on!
I hope no one is daft enough to pay that much. It just inflates the prices for everyone else.

Cor! You\'re a tough crowd, aren\'t you???

Hello all. My name is Russell!

I\'m a mug who has been daft enough to pay three hundred quid to get a moonroof! Yet, I was delighted to spend three hundred of my hard-earned pounds to give my car a new feel from a choice of sunroofs... I have never resented paying for that pleasure, and if asked, I certainly don\'t feel as though I have been conned!

I spent years trying to get a glass sunroof, so I think I\'ve got a rough idea of their cost, and scarcity.

Incidentally, it\'s not just toughened smoked glass at all. They are both hard-tempered PDG SOLARCOOL roof panels specific to a Mazda RX-7 1981-1985, with a gilded translucent mirror finish on the inside and black on the outside, and they make a great upgrade to the car, even if the sacrifice is a greenhouse effect in the summer, and a freeze in the winter. That said, I loved it! Especially at night funnily enough.

To import one from the USA will cost much more than three hundred quid. Come on, think about it... I did this myself in 1998 and received some nice brackets and 21,000 pieces of glass.

Incidently, I wouldn\'t be prepared to post the moonroof - I bought one via post and just couldn\'t glue it together well enough - it always leaked!

And Ian65, I was not trying to take the p*** out of anyone; I like your website by the way, and your cars too. Your efforts to save RX7s is highly commendable. I\'ve also got a black \'85 which I\'ve owned for 16 years and driven 261,000 miles, each one with love. Had several others as well. I\'ve given much of my life to RX7s and am merely selling some now
unwanted spares! Please don\'t be jealous of me. I would have ingratiated you, and offered much help to you! If you can\'t afford my prices, email me your sob story and I\'ll probably give them away; I\'m certainly not a greedy trader. Of course though, your opportunity to negotiate has gone!

So, as I won\'t be selling you anything, I certainly won\'t be taking the P*** out of you! I\'ve got nothing to lose, and what doesn\'t sell will have to go in a skip!

If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me. I\'m trying to be light hearted and I\'m perfectly reasonable, and have an abundance of rare spare parts - side skirts, TWR fibreglass rear spoiler, pristine black Elford body kit, 12A JANSPEED header, 13B FB JANSPEED header, new/old stock 12A backbox, lightly used TT s/s exhaust full system, NEW & re-con \'85
petrol tank, body panels, running 12a engines, \'79 instrument cluster, interior trim, air con\', and plenty more. This is a lifetimes worth of spares for sale, far too much to list, but a lot of real goodies; Elford courtesy light delay relay, 2 re-con TII logi-cons, carb 13B jet kit, used-but-useable tips & seals, Black US rear bumper (cracked paint (needs respraying to be
perfect), etc, etc. Too much to list.

If nobody is interested in the sunroofs, I\'ll put them on ebay in a few weeks. If they make a hundred quid, we\'ll all know they\'re monetary-value is a hundred quid.

I\'ve got to say, perhaps I\'m getting old, but in the early days of the owners club (pre-web) it was a whole lot more pleasant. I used to love the meets and car shows and summer barbqs at Jimmys. It all seems so hostile here.

My thanks to HaywardRotary though, because you were a thoroughly decent chap on the telephone, and thank you for the advert too. I\'m only sorry that you\'re now getting stick from your chums because of me! Oops!

So that\'s my rant over.

To be frank, I\'m not going to use this site any more, and that\'s a real shame. It looks good, has loads of info, and appears to be run very well, so think yourselves lucky it\'s here. By abusing other peoples offers (whether to your liking or not), all you\'ll do is scare off potential members, some of whom will have much more experience of these cars than many of you yourselves have, and sadly that is only to the detriment of the whole club and those who work to provide it for all, rather than just a couple of jealous grumpy MEMBERS. So, say what you want about me and my God-awful-prices; I won\'t see your comments again.

Anyone that contacts me via email will find that I\'m decent enough, merely trying to find a good home for some parts which I have saved for many years.

Good luck to all, and sadly for me, goodbye forever.

I too have imported a roof from the states in 2001, it was a lot less than £300and arrived in perfect condition so don\'t bother trying to justify your high prices to me.
If you paid £300 yourself, then you were turned over.

As for your comments relating to me, let have it straight...

1. I don\'t need your help, advice, parts, etc, etc

2. I\'m not short of a few quid because I know the value of things and don\'t get stung by the likes of you.

3. I have never intimated that I would want to buy anything from you or negotiate for anything that you may or may not own.

4. Jealous of you? get over yourself!
I\'d never heard of you until yesterday when I saw that you would be happy to fleece us.

5. You\'re bang on the money there, you won\'t ever be selling anything to me. So you\'re going to skip what you don\'t sell?
I suggest you get a 20 yard roll on, roll off because if you\'ve got as much stuff as you claim, and your sunroof prices are anything to go by, you won\'t be selling much.

This is a real friendly forum with a nice vibe...visitors / guests are made to feel welcome and offered plenty of help and assistance.
Unfortunately ( for you) that doesn\'t extend to people who appear to be trying to screw as much money as possible out of genuine enthusiasts.

But you won\'t be checking back in to see this reply will you??!!!

Thanks for the lecture that we never asked for!

Hopefully we can get back to the nice friendly vibe we had before you showed up.

Goodbye!

**** me! And on a thread where you were worried about "FC, FD and 8 owners peeping in and posting rude things about YOU?" Don\'t worry - you lot can hold your own in the playpen, celebrating the day when everything you want is valueless...right up until you want to sell it.

Never mind, I\'ll leave you to your "nice friendly vibe" :rollin and you can be as rude as you like to me too as I probably won\'t be looking back in either. It will mean one less FD \'peeping in\' so that should work out quite well.
