Quote from: initial_j;698306for those of you who havnt heard of hsd coilovers, they are the best money can buy in this country

how much are these? where did you buy them, where are they made and what makes you say they are the best money can buy in this country?

thats a pretty big statement considering the other well established suspension manufacturers around.

car looks fantastic to me, i\'m sure someone wil have it to pose round in over summer.

ive used just about every set of coilovers there is in my life and these are by far superior to anything else.

highly suprised you havnt heard of them

gazzgazz

i have heard of them,

was interested in where you got them, what you paid for them and why you felt they where the best there is as i\'m in the market for a set of coilovers myself.

initial_j

i got from driftworks a month ago, but ran them for a year on my 180sx before hand, easy to adjust, seriously high quality build to last, they dont sieze up a week after fitting them! plus being uk based, if anything did ever go wrong you can get them fixed

initial_j

worth mentioning if anyone does want just a stock vert, ill happily put it back to standard and lower the price.

still got the wheels, suspension. can easily take everything else off and sell seperatly

initial_j

theres stock black vert up for sale here for £1900 without a rebuild

so would happily let mine go for £2600 with new clutch and fresh rebuild

FC verts have come and gone on this Forum, seen plenty on Ebay and I have sold 3 myself, one of these was sold for £4500 and that was a showroom car but completely standard. I have always argued that a really good FC Convertible can demand good prices.  What you can not do though is base any car on what you have spent on it, I have seen plenty of FD\'s that will have had a new engine costing £4500 and then to only get the same sort of money back for the car.
How would I price my car? How would you price Furb\'s excellent FC coupe?
The price you demand must be realistic in todays market, as many have said its all about the how much someone wants to pay for it, if they like it and theres competition then they will raise the stakes even if it means going over what would be the ideal price.

In the case of the black vert then personally I would have liked to have seen a new roof on it and then it would have been worth the asking price. A new roof might have cost around £500 to have fitted but then it would appeal to a far bigger audience and hence a far better and quicker sale.

You also have to take into account the bodywork, any welding? personally I would not pay up to £4500 on a cab that has had welding, it has to be excellent condition underneath.  Rebuilds play a big part and likewise a good low mileage motor with confirmed compression will tempt the majority of any rotary lover be it FC or FD.
The roof must be rip free and body panels free from dents and rust, likewise the paint must be in good shape.  So many variables will affect the price in one way or another but presentation is everything, first impressions last a very long time and are one of the single biggest factors in anyone deciding on a car and maybe worth that bit extra.

Prices:
Up to £6000 for a really excellent modded car, fresh paint, quality mods and new engine, stainless exhaust etc etc
Up to £4500 for a really good UK standard showroom  low mileage car
Up to £3200 for a good car
Up to £2500 for avg car but still with good roof, panels etc and minor mods such as exhaust etc
Up to £1500 for a dog of a car but engine good, expect a ripped roof, maybe welding etc etc

to be honest im fricking bored stupid of explaining my price. if people cant be bothered to read what ive put, dont bother.

"I have seen plenty of FD\'s that will have had a new engine costing £4500  and then to only get the same sort of money back for the car"

THIS HAS HAD A NEW ENGINE at the price of £3500, so im asking 1k more, for a brand new set of top range coilovers, brand exedy clutch, the only vert specific cage in the country, a huge set of expensive wheels, and some seriously rare bendy aero and a seriously good personal plate, what the .... else do you want?!!

"I would not pay up to £4500 on a cab that has had welding, it has to be  excellent condition underneath.  Rebuilds play a big part and likewise a  good low mileage motor with confirmed compression will tempt the  majority of any rotary lover be it FC or FD."

once again, have you actually read the ad? it hasnt had any welding. it doesnt need any welding. it has a new engine. ....s sake!

coming from another fc owner, do i really need to go on about how rare good parts are?

ive owned and sold nearly every jap car their is. i know whats worth the money and what isnt. i dont need to be told that you dont get back what you put in.

if anyone wants to buy it, get in touch

if anyone just wants to carry on making it harder to sell by adding more irrelevant ....e to my sale, dont bother

please delete this thread

To be fair i think a lot of the replies especially PD Taylors are not specifically talking about your car and are more of a general comment about any vert.
Personally i like the look of your car and hope the sale goes well:Thumbs-up

initial_j

maybe i read it wrong. however not that helpfull either way

trying to sell a car you dont really want to sell is stressfull enough as it is without people chipping in their opinions uninvited

this lot:
"Up to £6000 for a really excellent modded  car, fresh paint, quality mods and new engine, stainless exhaust etc etc
Up to £4500 for a really good UK standard showroom  low mileage car
Up to £3200 for a good car
Up to £2500 for avg car but still with good roof, panels etc and minor  mods such as exhaust etc
Up to £1500 for a dog of a car but engine good, expect a ripped roof,  maybe welding etc etc"

means absolutely nothing. there are far too many variables on any car to be able to just fit it into one persons idea of how much it should be. so mine has a ripped roof, that mean its only worth £1500 then?i think not

id of thought anyone with common sense the MOST Important thing on buying an rx7 vert, is the engine. as that is what will cost the money to fix. a roof, few hundred quid, an engine several thousands of pounds.

READ what I have said, its not at all about YOUR car, its about FC cabs in general. I am all for your car getting the asking price and have always stuck and supported those sort of prices and higher for excellent, quality cabs either standard or with quality modded items added.  Dont give up on this thread, you have more than backed up your asking price and I for one support you but what you must do is hear what people are saying rather than shoot them down in flames.

This is not some magic numbers I have pulled out of a hat, its years of buying, selling and studying the market purely on FC Verts. Did I call your car a dog??  Of course i did not and I can see that you have taken this totally in the wrong way.

A new roof is actually around £700 to buy and have fitted and that will not be a Mazda one either.

I actually support your asking price and I was hoping that my information would be some sort of guide to others who wish to sell their cabs and to more than justify your asking price.
