Hi all, I know a bit about FDs, but nothing about FCs....so what would you say, from just the advert, this is worth

It is defo not worth that much purely because i don\'t think he will find anyone willing to pay that much, now if he sold wheels suspension various other parts he might get closer to that price. He is a guy over on driftworks.

Speedline Imports

In reality I would guess probably only around half the asking price.  Brian Ellis had a big spec FC for around £4-4.5k and it didnt sell.

FC Cabs normally hold there money well and we have agreed valuations out there for 6K.

U/K cars are rare with only 360 imported so values should rise for good ones, however as with anything, its only worth as much as somebody is prepared to pay.

Hope this helps

as clive sais, but for that price you can import a low milage (around 50k miles) completly original coupe minimal rust, few small mods (strut brace etc that can easy be reversable).

bear in mind even though the engine has been rebuilt the chassis milage is quite high (maybe low for 20 yr old car) and uk rust?

each to their own :)
does look quite nice though :)
he is on here also, initial_j?
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

yep thats my car.

i am 100 percent sure i will get that for it.

perhaps some people arnt reading the full advert.

it has a brand new clutch just gone in

it has only done 10k since the last engine rebuild at the cost of £3500!

the wheels are worth 1k

for those of you who havnt heard of hsd coilovers, they are the best money can buy in this country

the cage is the only vert specific cage i have seen in the country!

the number plate C4B RX

the aero is all genuine bendy plastic parts from japan, again worth a fortune

not to mention it has the leather tonneau cover

and no real rust at all!

i think perhaps a lot of people dont quite appreciate just how expensive the parts on there are, and also how hard it is to find an fc vert without rust and WITH a engine rebuild

if a stock one is going for 3k!: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAZDA-RX7-TURBO-2-CONVERTIBLE-1990-AMAZING-STUNNER-/280506052493?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item414f76af8d

i have about an extra 3k of parts, AND a rebuilt engine and new clutch!

take note of this anyone looking for one, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. you could easily pick up a stock vert for a lot cheaper, bang engine dies, your looking at a 3.5k bill.

and dont compare normal fc turbo prices with that of fc convertibles, completly different prices as theres about 30x the ammount of fc coupes around. just like e36 bmws, the price of a 325i and a 325i convertible is about 3 times the ammount! especially in the summer!

mine is a damn bargain at that price!

I\'d say a lot of car for the money - stick to your guns - if someone wants it bad enough - that\'s not a lot to pay for what is a lot of car. :cheers

thanks bud. dont worry it wont be going for a penny less than the asking price.

it was actually sold last week, someone "bought it now" for 4.5k however after a couple of emails, trying to find out when he wanted to collect, hes gone quite : ( typical ebay time wasters!

peterwolds

agree intial its not over priced wouldnt let mine go for silly money its uk,standard apart from alloys 38000 from new.
good luck with sale nice car

limited appeal tho mate - standard ones imo have much more appeal - there cant be many people in the uk wanting a modified convertible mazda with a stiff ride, a cage and buckled wheel. Id have thought convertible = cruiser so all the "drift" mods arent really helping. it also gives off the perception of a car driven quite hard

dthebuk

tbh i thought it was over priced at first purely because brians car was cheaper and had a much more epic spec. Though i think he just underpriced it heavily.

depends how you look at it though, there are two clean big single FC\'s going for 5000-6000 (i think) which makes this car look incredibly over priced, though in my opinion these are underpriced too. That unfortunately devalues this car, even though it looks like its worth every penny.

\'91 FC TII - Drifter... Under construction :D
:burnout

ad4m1

also u cant price a car like an fc by what parts are on it at some stage u got to bear in mind the car itself is a old mazda with an engine that people are scared of!
gandys car is prime example

his car has

rebuilt engine by one of best in business
half bridge port
t78 single turbo recent reconditioned
v mount
regamasters
uprated fuelling
microtech ecu

not to mention his is a jdm car so no rust...also if anything its the jap models that are worth more. for this exact reason. gandys car should be worth its asking price all day long

initial_j

grrr. read what i wrote

NONE OF THE CARS YOUR TALKING ABOUT ARE VERTS!!!

they are a completly different car! you pay extra for convertibles in nearly all forms of car. so please stop with the "ooh so and so sold there fc for this money". its irrelevant. find me a VERT with a better spec for cheaper money.

its a "look at me" car. it looks nice. i certainly think a LOT more people would want a nice looking vert than a bloody t78 turbod fc, what the hell are you going to do with that apart from drag racing?!

narrow minded simple people, might not be able to see past certain things. a buckled wheel. wow! get it straighten for £40. not really a problem.

dont like the cage? take it out and sell it!

coilovers to stiff? turn them a few clicks with your fingers, hey presto soft as you like

rust- doesnt have any, as ive already said

as ive said in the ad, it hasnt had the welded diff fitted, so hasnt been driven hard.

i really think some people are being very selective with what they pay attention to.

its has a fresh rebuild and a brand new clutch. put that together and its more than the price of the car!

so if your the type who would rather buy a vert for 2.5k, and expect it to last, keep dreaming. itll cost you more in the long run

so if were quite all done decreasing the ammount of people that might be interested through ignorance..

CharlieP

Looks like I opened a can of worms

Initial_j I wasnt insinuating that your car isnt worth the money, I just wanted to find out more about values etc as I dont know much about them

initial_j

thats alright mate, nor do a lot of people on here by the sounds of things!
