got a dashboard last week off kris to mess around with. had a play about with it today, got it stripped down and shaped a bit of plastic to fit where the centre speaker is and started fibreglassing.

left that drying and stripped the centre vents down as the surround is cracked and i ended up spraying them a darker black satin.

then sanded the FG down with a flap wheel on a grinder cause im lazy and then gave it a covering of filler and left it at that.

its back but something was wrong by the time i got i home, 3 miles... i followed my dad and he pulled over just after we had set off complaining about the light being on main beam, the thing was they weren\'t... got home, went to turn it off and it was still running OMFG....

anyway, the reason i think, is because i had to take the arch liners out to do the arch\'s they didnt put them back in, well i didnt think to check. quite a few wires messed up. something else to fix, why can nothing never so smoothly :rollin

Got to love the XDs with centre caps, 17s btw

karl_tate

lol ooooppps. im in no rush to get it in, im going to try covering it. no didnt see the wheels, really nice wheel as well :D yeh lee\'s car is sweet, done a great job with it.

haha, just going to cut it out and resolder it all and tuck it away a bit and give me more room in the arch, as the liners are going to have to be modified in some way to make them fit back on.

so are those real Emotions on there at the moment?

don\'t swap them for Rota or Ultralite :( better to use spacers, or sell them and put the cash towards some nice wheels in manly fitment.

chrisJDM

very nice karl looking good :Thumbsup!

karl_tate

yeh they are real emotions, and for sale as well.

unfortunately i have ordered some rota\'s, can take them back if they dont look right but i just carnt justify spending loads of money on wheels.

cheers chris, its getting there.

well cut back the loom to reveal the mess. cut, soldered, heat shrinked and loom taped it all back up, and hey presto everything works fine again :D

Good job on fixing those wires, I think you were lucky not to have shorted something against the body!

Car wiring is certainly an art, you can spend weeks at it and still not be pleased with the results!
Cheers

karl_tate

thanks ben, i really was lucky, there is some pretty thick wires in that lot and could of easily started a fire.

yeh i know what you mean, if i was going to do a rewire again then i would do it differently with even less clutter. its all tucked away neatly now with the arch liners all nicely in, will have to do some more work with them when the new wheel\'s turn up tho.

well another update..

got a superpro bush kit from matt (mph customs) but i wont be fitting them for a while i dont think.

started out with fitting the front bumper, when it was on before there wasnt any support for it at the bottom so made up some pikey brackets but they do the job well, took a bit of time to get all the angles but got there in the end.

then moved onto fitting all the interior back in, gave it a bit of clean and its nearly finished, just hate that bit of yellow on the passenger side tho :(

just got it fit the skirts and its pretty much there, well still need the new wheel\'s and then lower it more. having said that, the adjuster\'s on the suspension have split and i dont really want to risk breaking them further
