Anyone modified a dash before?

Im looking to possibly cut a chunk out and mould in a iphone docking station

Are they pretty easy to modify?

batman

If you are handy with fibreglass and filler its not to complicated to do.

dthebuk

dunno about modifying it. But chrisJDM on here (and his missus i think) did the one on my car. I think it was the first one they\'d done and it was a very good job imo

Did they have the proper equpiment or did they do a DIY job?

Can do DIY for about £30 or get it done professionally for £120

dthebuk

well i think its part of a business. TBH you\'d have to ask them

hi mate are you still interested in the dash i have, i can do it for you for £35 delivered if your interested.

NeilSR

Possibly mate, dont know whether to buy yours and do it, just incase i .... it up, or take mine out and do it, .... it up and then buy yours as a replacement, lol

Ive ordered a carbon centre console from usa, so gonna do that, but quite fancy linking my iphone with the cd player, so cut a chunk out and add a dock, then flock the whole dash black, or black and red, or the dash black and the bits between the front seats red

Alo looking to take out all the inside of the car, carpets etc, but then mount 2 subs in the holes that are left where the rear seats go

Just so many ideas, lol

all sounds good mate, let me know soonish anyway as i think will be clearing the garage out pretty soon.

as far as the docking station goes.. id say get the spare.. play about.. see what you can come up with. thats what i did when doing the carbon bits. and now wiht the new custom bits im doing.

I see you said your getting the carbon bits from the states like i did. They are sweet quality so im sure your gonna be happy. Make sure you offer the console up first and look into how to mount it. i used pretty obvious clips as i wanted it to be quick-release.. but im sure theres a way to get it done tideier for your show look. :yes Did you order any other bits?

Flocking wise..  im probably giving my dash to a local company to do once all my wirings been relocated. Im nearly finished with all the new wiring and quick-release system.. so once thats done i just need to order an aftermarket fuel gauge & speedo. (no idea where to start looking for those)
