hey sorry managed to somehow miss this thread, me the the now ex started up a business doing flocking and managed to start donig quite well, flocked the dash in the norris designs green evo and also a few other high spec track cars, unfortunatly we split up and i was unable to carry it on as i work full time and the ex couldnt be bothered anymore, we sold the equipment to a company called FCM Motorsport in Bristol.

As we were not doing it as a one off we purchased the professional equipment which all together cost around £1000, and it does not require a compressor.  There are ways of doing it without the equipment but to get the proper finish you have to use the correct equipment for the job, it works using electrostatic.  You paint the epoxy glue onto the dash then put nylon fibres into the device and it electrostaticly (if thats a word lol) charges the fibres and sends them head on into the glue, giving the desired effect.

any questions let me know, or if you would like the number for FCM Motorsport to get a quote :Thumbsup!

hi chris me and my friend had you do our dashes (200sx and fd we came down in the 205)

However i do believe you possibly didn\'t clean the dashes properly or didnt use the correct adhesive as a couple of bits came off and generally didn\'t look that great.

There is a guy on the sxoc (i will try look it up) who flocks things and can do it to such a high standard that his wheels are done and they can withstand jet washing i would say that he is your man and the one to go for if you want anything flocking.

o right sorry to hear this, the adhesive we use is from a supplier of flocking materials and is designed specifically for flocking so it was definetly the correct stuff.  As for cleaning the dash\'s we always spent ages cleaning them, the problem usually comes when someone has used alot of black to black or something similar on there dashboards as it is very hard to remove these products if they have been used alot over a long period of time, if you go to any flocking company they will warn you that there may be problems getting the adhesive to take to the dash properly if those types of products have been used.
