I think that a 5a is the engine to build.

wow, thems some useable revs. 2 peice 4mm seals should cope. Dont bother clearancing the rotors. more weight means more torque!

make sure you get 2 sets of hurleys finest 3mm 1 piece seals and chemi bond them together and then linish them down to suit hahahaha

they are the best :spank:spank:spank:spank

We will use our own seals thanks!

are you building him a new engine carl?

Personally i wouldnt go past mazda apex seals for any engine  - they fixed my problem after using aftermarket crap.

I remember RX Engineering running mazda 3mms in Pat longs Rx3 sedan which makes 700+rwhp and runs 9.1 through a supra 5 speeder!

HaywardRotary

I have used Mazda 3mm in alot of engines over the years, having done alot of material analysis over a period of about 10 years we now have developed our own apex seals, they are really tough,we have detted engines to extreme levels and had no breakages, but have broken corner seals instead. They are very kind to the rotor housings too.

ill have to disagree with you claim carl about R&D there is no 3rd party that has spent more money than mazda to develop apex seals..

mazda all the way! :Giggle:Giggle:Giggle

I did not say that we have done more research than mazda.

If you think about it Mazda have done most reseach to make a seal that is both cheap for the bean counters and runs totally stock engines reliably which are incidently made by a third party and not Mazda themselves, also their research for racing has seen them use ceramics made by third party\'s.

We still use Mazda seals for certain stock engines, but use our own for modified engines.

Is this a private conversation? The cutest seals i\'ve seen were in north west south africa (i was on a tour), the colony was a bit smelly to be honest but. All this talk about seals makes me want to go clubbing!:Hammer

On a different note a box arrived by courier todat with a large round shiny thing in it. Offered it up to the engine and it seems that I will have to releive the car of some body work to make it fit..but damn it looks good:D And its going to help with the induction quite nicely thank you

dubber91

i know what your talking about!:spank:yes
