As I\'m sure some of you have read on another thread there seems to be a bit of gripin about various tuners goin on.
Well as far as I know this is an open forum and not here to provide any particular tuner with a good or bad reputation. So I think as members we should take advantage of this. Surely this forim is here to provide it\'s members with information and opinions whether they be good or bad.
So if anyone would like to post thre experiances with tuners or suppliers i think it can only be useful to others. I\'m not doin this to start a bitchin match just to provide fellow members with honest opinions.
I myself have used Geff for mappin and was impressed with his work. I\'ve used ShyAutos for parts and was very impressed with prices and service. Also used Ds Engineering for service and new clutch and found Steve to be a very honest and genuine bloke.
Once tried Nemesis for Gauges and found them to be crap, never returned my phone calls and only seemed interested in sellin me a single turbo.
Well I hope this does\'nt get taken down and some opinions get given..........good or bad

Yo Jay,

have been to WGT engineering in Northwich twice now for bits a bobs and found it very well run and organised. Had my new aluminuim rad put in from there, and had a service too.

Going back there on Thursday for remap and injector upgrade, will let you know how i get on.

Pip gardner in charge there, very helpful and knowledgeable:)

For the first few months of my FD ownership, I used RoTechniks. Can\'t comment really any further as I haven\'t used them in a long time.

For the last 2 years I\'ve used RE:Worx and have not had any issues with them. Geff has been always helpful and has always given me good advice and workmanship. I\'ve learnt a great deal from him. Only complaints are he can be busy and I need to wash the mugs most visits!

I\'ve used Tim at RX Motors for a few bits n pieces and again have been very happy, especially with his Alladins Cave of parts!

Yeah Geff can be lousy to get a mug of coffee out of.

I\'ve used him with no complaints too.

I used Rotechnics once with my MX-5 and had mixed results (plus a bollocking from work as my extended lunch break took4 hours ratehr than their predicted two, they did not charge me for the full though).

If I was up north I\'d probably use WGT from all I\'ve heard, though for my MX-5, when supercharged, without disrepescting Pip, I still would have taken it to Maztek in Telford.

Christopher

We used tim at RX motors aswell for a bumper bar and downpipe for a 1st gen. Used RE Worx for a check up ewhich was fine but when we came to pick the car up he wasn\'t there (he was stuck in traffic on a road test). Then we were going to get stiffer suspention put on and we went all the way down there and he never turned up :( We didn\'t bother in the end.

i used wgt for my mapping i was very pleased with the service got offered coffee whilst waiting and pip kept poping in telling me how things were going took slightly longer than first enticippated but pip reflected this in the price

this should be a new header section really me thinks!
Kind regards

I agree, but as long as it is made clear that these are opinions and not statements of fact there can be nothing slanderous surely?

I have used RX Motors for my re-build and also for random bits for the Gen 1 and must say Tim is greathttp://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_146_5.gif\' border=0> he comes up with plenty of ideas and does a good job too! Doesn\'t do much on the tea front though!http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_210.gif\' border=0>

This is meant to be just for opinions, so people can read it and make a slightly more informed choice. I hope this helps...

Tea or coffee at Tims, i thinks its bring a bottle if you go over there!!!
Great service though at RX Motors, are relatively close to me so convienent for me as well. Very helpfull and always happy to give valuable advise and probably have got every part you will ever need.
I have also found Ross at Dragon to be excellent, have had a few aftermarket parts from him and he has also been happy to loan me some bits when i got in a difficult situation with SVA.  Always a great help on advise with regard to problems.
So thanks to the two mentioned above and would recommend them to anyone.
Brian has also been excellent and willing to help out at the drop of a hat, so thanks to Brian too.

jay

Forgot to mention that Brian had got me an RZ spoiler and brought to Rotorstock for me, so impressed with his service and seemed like a nice guy.

Real good thread well done Jay, and we don\'t just need good stuff as MRC needs to provide as unbiased opinion as possible about where it\'s members can buy their chosen product,  part or vehicle  or whatever from, safe in the knowledge that they are not going to be ripped off, or if they potentially could be, that they enter into whatever deal with their eyes wide open !

As Lee say\'s we will run this good or bad but if it gets too messy we will have to clip or remove certain posts if we deem that they are potentially damaging to MRC
All the best Clive

Slander - spoken
Libel - written

Both are examples of defamation.

Problem for the forum would be when someone requests something thay feel to be an unfair representation to be removed and then the forum either has to censor it\'s members expressed views or ignore the complaint and hope the compleiner doesn\'t  get legal.

While I think freedom of opinion and it\'s expression is important if the forum were threatened by that then it should be discouraged.

Possibly a thread with clear instructions on what\'s acceptable - i.e. not a place to air grievances or grind an axe but somewhere to express personal opinion bakced up by anecdotal evidence would be the way to go?
