Dunno whether this is the right place for this one, or even if it\'s already on your register, David. Don\'t even know if it\'s someone on here selling up, but here goes anyway, sorry if it\'s wasting your time....

Passed a white FB parked up at the roadside for sale when I went up to t\'monster-in-laws this weekend. It\'s in the place farthest away from the bright centre of the universe it\'s possible to get on this planet, to wit Waterhouses up on the Staffs/Derbyshire border, right on the A523 Ashbourne-Leek road.

Had a printed piece of paper claiming a full service history and loads of receipts etc but it had gone all soggy in the rain, so I couldn\'t read it all or get much idea as to reason for sale etc. Said "make me an offer but please  don\'t insult me" lol. Had a quick fondle round the wheel arches and so on and the body seemed in really pretty good nick, the interior looked immaculate, but again due to the lovely Staffs weather it was hard to get a pic.

Anyway, the reg is A77 WOM, the phone number on the For Sale notice is 07773 355 775. Might be worth giving the dude a ring for more details if anyone\'s interested. I wish I hadn\'t just bought a winter runabout last week or I\'d have been ringing up to make a semi-insulting offer!

Ahhh, sorry for the repost!

Jesus, that seems a bit steep to me . Like I said, the bodywork did seem in excellent condition, but if that\'s her starting price, I think she\'d probably find any offer I\'d be willing to make rather insulting!

Yep, Got it on Register from Autotrader. That write up says it has to be some car indeed.
Is Waterhouses a place then?
Never wasting my time Nik with all this info and extra pics. Plus the Sellers Mobile is always useful info to pass on to a prospective buyer.

Waterhouses is sorta a place :Giggle It\'s kinda two houses deep strung out along the main road, and in line with Staffs sledgehammer-to-crack-a-nut speed policy, it has something like six speed cameras in a mile-long stretch . I think you can start a nice walk along the Manifold Valley to Thor\'s cave and that kinda thing if pictureskew rambling\'s your thang, there\'s a place renting bikes for that purpose too, think the cycle trail runs along the disused railway there. Other than a commercial truck filling station, I\'m not sure Waterhouses has anything else of note to recommend it, though :3Confused

Thanks for that. I think as well the price came down to £4000 in the end. Still a few hundred up even for A1. Maybe if concourse....but what\'s it doing the out in the rain!!!!

Haven\'t seen it before - thanks very much. Looks right on the line for spares or repair? Could be either?
Interesting this is - the seller must be a 1st Gen enthusthiast, 2nd one up on ebay in a short time.

These are the numbers of 1st Generation modded engine bays that I have noted. There will probably be more modded cars out there where I haven\'t picked up that the owners have modded:-
Series 3:
12A Bridgeport...2
13B..................8
12AT (Elford).....4
3Litre Omega.....1
Rover V8...........1
Series 2
13B..................1
450 BHP Mods....1
12AT (Elford).....6
Series 1
FD Engine..........1
12AT (Elford).....1

Hope that helps Dave

Sorry mate, mistake, I\'ve double checked the relevant posts and it\'s 265 BHP at wheels at the moment. The owner has got a new humungus turbo going on next month and he said a \'realistic 450 BHP\' is to be expected. I was doing the list of modded engines in a hurry so apologies.

It\'s not Tim, no, but if you navigate into the 1st Generation section and go to Page 3, then halfway down the page, under \'Update on my FB\' is the car and it\'s details.

I\'ll amend the details that are down against your car. Thanks.

David Nock (RIP)

I\'ve seen the car on Gumtree, London....I\'m  a sado or what? It looks like a lot of machinery for the money, possibly its in the £850 to £2000 selling category?

Thanks Ian, Register\'s been quiet lately but I\'ve been working on the next Development:

Cars which are licenced at DVLA, therefore On the Road, plus Track Cars and Rally Cars:-
Series 3 - 48 No.,   Series 2 - 13 No.,    Series 1 - 3 No.,

Cars which are SORNED or unlicenced at DVLA, but complete as Project Cars, not likely to be Scrapped:-
Series 3 - 66 No.,   Series 2 - 23 No.,    Series 1 - 7 No.,

Cars which are not in either category \'cos I\'ve no Reg for them as yet:-
Series 3 - 22 No.,   Series 2 - 7 No.,    Series 1 - 1 No.,

That puts a new gloss on why you don\'t see many 1st Gens on the Road.

Even if we added another 50 cars to this list to allow for the ones that we don\'t know about plus a percentage of the \'yet to be classified\' cars,  that\'s a staggeringly low number of cars still in use.
No wonder we never see any driving about.
The other sad fact is that the longer a car is off the road, unless it\'s a genuine sorn case in the hands of a long term owner / enthusiast, the less chance it\'s got of going back on the road.

I wonder how this impacts on current values. I noticed that the price guide in the back of practical classics hardly changed at all for around 10 yrs.
I bet no one has produced an up to valuation  list / survey of sale prices for years for these cars.
