417V was red, and I think that FKN 310V was silver.
FKN was the original demonstrator when the RX7 went on sale in the UK on 1st September 1979.

The early press cars, FKN 310V, FKJ 414V, FKJ 417V, FKJ 418V also had Kent number codes I believe, seemingly having been registered by Mazda UK when they arrived in the UK.
 
I wonder if any of them survive?

There was another which was being rallied as recently as 2007. FKJ 419V. It\'s in my Register of live cars. I\'m led to believe that it was also one of the first batch with FKJ 420V (below).

FKJ 407V (Silver Grey) and FKJ 420V (White) have also been reported on over the years but I think they\'ll be dead now.

Yes thanks Ian, Got all 3:-
B355 I\'ve got noted as a smart looking car, low miles.(56,000 ish). Got an Export Marker against it. The VIN is indeed odd, 701719 I\'ve got at the end, seems a lower number than you would expect from an \'84 car. Maybe not UK originally or it\'s still wrong.
B668 was up for sale this spring,
197Y I\'d moved into my broken up pile as it wasn\'t sold in an auction in 2006 and has been unlicenced since \'07.

Got all these 3 but KEEP \'EM COMING. I\'ve no engine numbers at all as yet....too much info to record I thought and really the shell is the thing. Any thoughts on that?

I agree, engines change and would be difficult to track.
I reckon you\'ve got enough to do trying to keep track of the shells, especially when they keep moving around via Ebay, going on and off sorn etc.
Vins are good though to help determine build dates etc.

Yes Please Capt. It will be interesting because I\'ve got a good few S3 VINS but not many S2\'s and I\'m seeking to prove that the S2\'s had a slightly different ending to the VIN before the individual car No. occurred.
